"Unknown" Play Date

Hi All -
I think it’d be useful to have an “unknown” option for when something was watched. I have lots and lots of episodes and movies that I watched before I came over to trakt that I would love to have listed but I don’t want to arbitrarily pick a date that I viewed it. A category that doesn’t screw up all my stats would be nice.

Thanks for the hard work and great product.

Yes, I really want that too.
My all time stats are messed up because of the things I watched before I joined.
Would be nice if we could add them with unknown date and time.

Yup, couldn’t agree more. My last page of history consists of episodes from How to Get Away with Murder that I have seen for sure but that was before I joined Trakt.
For these episodes, I chose ‘on release date’ which is not true since the show was aired on delay here in The Netherlands but it’s still nice no have marked these episodes as played.

I’m pretty sure Justin said somewhere (on the old forums, or UserVoice), that Trakt is too “dependant” (I don’t know how to describe it) on when-viewed data that unknown/empty just doesn’t work.

Ha! Another Dutchie  (That’s what I do too by the way)

Ah that’s a shame but I do understand. I’m glad that these episodes are the only ones that mess up my stats. I didn’t add a whole lot because I want my stats to be as accurate as possible.
Now, Trakt only shows stats from when I joined the site.

I also just do Release Date for stuff I’ve already seen in the past but don’t necessarily know when.

Pretty cool to have “seen” stuff before I was born!

It would be nice if there was a way to mark episodes with an unknown date to exclude them from the specific statistics.
Like these:

But they could still count in these:

As for the history they could be in the last page. But if that is not possible there is no way them.

I’ve been trying to clean up my stats a bit (removing things I watched just a couple of episodes in dates I know are wrong) and also have been getting the dates I have from TV Time (that I used before trakt), but doing this one by one will take a lot of time, and it will still be wrong because of the time.
I would gladly just go back e mark every single thing again with a unknown date though.

It would be pretty amazing if this was an option. As @Sonply mentioned above, having some way for the content you’ve watched in unknown dates to not be considered in statistics of that sort would go a long way towards making the stats be more accurate.

I’ve actually made a list to add those movies/shows that I don’t know when I watched. (Way back in the day when I joined Trakt, you couldn’t actually choose “release date” as an option, so there’s a ton of inaccurate information from my early days here :P)

Same here

Letterboxd includes the option to mark the date watched. I agree this would be a nice feature.
I currently use release date when it makes sense (meaning I was alive and conscious to have seen that content).

This would be amazing to have, I have a few thousand plays attributed to feb 2016 that could be attributed to Unknown and potentially listed as such in reporting. The current iteration puts me off using All Time Stats.

Sorry, I posted in the wrong topic, and now I can’t remove it and post here. I’ll put a link to what I wrote.

This has been requested numerous times. Your post is a bit aggressive but easy solution is to just pick a really old days to consistently use for unknown days. Like 1/1/1950.
