Freemium Experience: More Features for All with Usage Limits

As an existing VIP you’re still on the $30 plan (unless you cancel it). So why would something that does not impact you trigger you to cancel it?

I was on 30€ plan but under profiles → manage VIP the renewal price bumped to 60€.
I cancelled before the expiration then on Black Friday (before the expiration date) I used an offer for another year at 30€. Now I don’t know if this price will remain the same or it will increase.
Anyway, since the only way to be listened is hit where hurts, I vote with my wallet and cancel subscription. VIP subscriptions keep things running for free user. if free user get hurt they can do nothing. VIP members can.

Why do you have so many in your “Watch List”?

The point of the “Watch List” is it’s the location you can save movies/shows you have not started watching yet, but intend to in the future. Then, once you watch a movie, or the very first episode of a tv show…that move/show is then removed automatically from your “Watch List”. Thus, the Watch List should be constantly “cleaning” itself so that you don’t have to over-load it with 150+ items.

Your custom/personal lists can be used as you wish…

You know that there’s only 24hours in a day and most ppl don’t sit there watching all day right?

Ppl like me add stuff they want to watch to watch later. But many times don’t have enough time in the day to watch what they add but still want to.

Then more things come out that users want to watch later. It then adds up.

Don’t know why some of you judge why some ppl have more in their watchlist than others.

Ppl watch in their own pace.

No, and you should know better…and not let the frustration get the better of you. You know I am very active in this community, so you should also know that I am very well aware of the apps/services that use the Trakt API (so obviously I know they have connections to Trakt).

And you basically answered your own question…I was referring to SIMKL (and I think I have seen TV Time mentioned). It’s not just in this thread, it’s in just about every other thread that’s been created to complain about the latest update.

Don’t you think you are being a little bit of a hypocrite with this comment? I know you are trying to defend a certain customer with this specific issue, but you are throwing around “judgement” yourself. To each their own…

And I am not trying to TELL people how to use the site and features. I was merely informing that person what the “Watch List” is intended for. I’m not going to go find the thread or FAQ, but Trakt basically says the same thing in their “How To” series. Just passing on information friend…that’s all.

Also take note, that I also mentioned…your personal/private lists can be used how ever you wish…which is were I would put so called movies/shows that I know I won’t get to for a very long time…instead of letting them stagnate and clutter up my often used Watch List.

How am I a hypocrite? I also am one that has over 200 items in my watchlist. I do want to watch what I add in my watchlist but I can’t get through it all. I rather have something in my watchlist than nothing so when I’m ready to watch something new, then I can pick something from my watchlist rather than searching for hours what to watch next.

@justin If this is the case, then why am I unable to finish collecting the episodes of my last show (above 100)? They shouldn’t add to the counter. Again, the biggest issue, in my opinion, is the 100 item limit on what you can collect.

@terryapodaca I’m not sure who you think you are, but it really sounds like you are giving out unsolicited “advice” and try to tell people how they should be using the site. How about getting off of your high horse?

Thank you for the recommendation! If Trakt doesn’t reverse their decision about limiting wishlists, then I may move over to Showly.

You are VIP, you don’t have limits.

That wasn’t my point. My point is you telling ppl they shouldn’t have that many items in their watchlist.

You get two free (automatic) lists: Watch List and Favorites

You then get two custom lists (of which you can do what ever you want with).

That’s 400 items you can move around. Why not make a custom/personal list, call it…“Want to Watch” and place several of the shows/movies in that list that you KNOW for sure you won’t get to for a long time (if at all). That would clean out your Watch List. Use your second custom (free) list for what ever else you want.

You don’t need a list to track Progress, because you already get that for free and it’s unlimited for example: Sign in to Trakt - Trakt

You don’t need a list to track History, because you already get that for free and it’s also unlimited, for example: https://trakt.tv/users/terryapodaca/history

WTH? Why are my posts getting hidden? I didn’t even say anything offending.

It isn’t me. All mine are getting hidden too. People don’t have to like me or my posts, but all these triggered snowflakes are making me laugh.

Don’t worry though…after about 24 hours, staff will automatically restore your posts (until someone else flags them again).

I haven’t been flagging any of urs either btw. Someone’s feelings must really be hurt….

Anyhow, this is getting out of hand.

Even though I have VIP, I just felt Trakt handled it a bit sudden without much heads up which is my biggest disappointment.

Anyways, I’m just gonna go enjoy my shows and movies. :wave:t3:

Haha…and looky there…I was notified that 3-4 of mine were restored. Upon looking it looks like yours were restored too.

And, 99% of the time we see things the same way. That’s pretty obvious because we reply to a lot of the same threads.

As for this update, I don’t have a problem with limits. Especially for free users. I don’t agree with how low the limit is at 100 though. I know Justin gave us some stats, but I don’t think that justified such a low limit. It’s not hurting performance of the website (I don’t use the native phone apps).

Haha yea same with me

Yeaaa. My biggest concern was really the popular lists that are under free users but the ones that I follow have reduced their lists to around 100 and continuing to maintain so I’m just glad about that.

Yea I’m that we both agree on. We are both active and both do our part to help out the community where we can.

This earlier post explains it pretty well. Sure, things are constantly getting checked off, but in the time it takes me to watch 10 or 20 episodes of a TV show, I might hear of two or three movies I want to watch. Congrats, I’ve just replaced one TV show on my watchlist with three movies. :slightly_smiling_face:
