  • The “Watch now” filter is available on all user pages, including history, progress, collection, ratings, and lists. Still struggling to find where your favorite shows or movies are streaming? Not anymore!
  • “Watch now” email notifications available for everyone. Stay updated on your favorite streaming content with a daily or weekly email digest!
  • 100 personal notes are available to all Trakt users. Add notes to your list items, activities, and media items! Want to remember who you watched something with? Add a note to that item in your watched history! Want to note who recommended that movie to you? Add a note to that movie in your watchlist! Other note ideas can be found here.
  • Favorites list item limit increased for everyone. Instead of 50 items, your favorites list now can have up to 100 items.

Nothing, you will keep any lists you already have created.

The 100 items watchlist limit is really bad. Can’t you introduce it just for the other lists? The free users loses the best feature…

That’s low-key predatory marketing. If you guys had any chance to get money from me, you just lost it.

I was truly about to consider subscribing just for the filters on the calendar, but removing or limiting a list size is straight up bs. You’re literally milking it. The limit is extreme as well, 100, really?

More Features for All” yey, “more” features

Advertising more accessibility and better experience, but literally slapping us in the face with this and for no reason really.
Please correct this matter and remove this silly 100 item limit on what people can collect.

“Commence enshittification!”

P.S. Give free users the option to export their data, otherwise you’re keeping that data hostage against GDPR.

Free users are now limited to 100 items in their watchlists

Well it was great while it lasted but now it seems like it’s time for me to slowly stop relying on this site. It’s pretty funny saying ‘more features for all’ while at the same time taking away features isn’t it? lol.

That’s what Marketing people call “spin”.

There’s putting limits on things, and then there’s restricting things so low that you’re just screwing over your existing users including VIP users here. What you’ve done is the latter.

You could have been decent and allowed existing users to keep their current limits and restricting new accounts, that would have been the logical decision.

My popular lists I have are now pointless and can no longer have anything added to them. Altogether that’s over 1000 followers on my lists that may as well not now. You may as well have just completely removed free access whilst you were at it. Even if I was thinking about subscribing to VIP I definitely won’t be now with how you have screwed people over who’ve used this service for over 10 years.

A big % of existing popular lists were created by free users, so you’re even impacting VIP users by ensuring these lists can no longer be updated.

Whatever jobsworth made the decision to effectively destroy the trakt community needs their head looking at for such a poor business decision.

from 2000 items in a list to only 100? byeee

Completely agree with what is being said. It impacts the whole trakt community and most ppl probably won’t join VIP now bc $60/year for ppl joining vip now is probably too steep.

This is such a horrible decision….

Terrible move.

With this 100 items list limit, now my dedicated list for completed tv shows (shows that ended and I finished) is almost at full. It’s time to move to good old Excel.

this change from trakt.tv is ridiculous. if you’re a free user and have been tracking long-running series like one piece or pokémon, you’re basically screwed now. with over a thousand episodes in these shows, a limit of 100 collections is absurd.

collections were one of the best features for organizing shows and movies, especially for people like me who are dedicated to building and tracking their libraries. now, unless you’re paying, you’re severely restricted and it feels like a slap in the face to the long-time users who helped grow the platform.

what’s worse is that i was even a premium user for a year because i wanted to use the feature to export my entire collection. guess what? it never worked. not even once. i contacted their support, and they never resolved it. the subscription was a complete waste of money. and now, with this ridiculous new limit, i have even less reason to ever subscribe again.

sure, i get the need to encourage premium subscriptions, but this drastic limit just alienates the free users who made trakt.tv popular in the first place. it’s like they’re saying, “thanks for your support, but you don’t matter anymore.”

looooool
so now instead of more people considering buying vip (even though it’s unreasonably expensive) more people will consider leaving trakt altogether :joy: great job :joy:
honestly, get bent

I knew it! The remove of red theme behind a paywall and the awful pink theme was just the beginning of the ransom.

As a VIP user I’m extremely disappointed and won’t be renewing. This means a load of lists that I use and subscribe to, created by free users, will no longer be maintained or will be shrunken down massively.

Ridiculous cash grab with zero consideration of consequence. Time to start exploring the alternatives.

Looks like it’s time to move to simkl and other trakers if this is how we’re going to be treated.

Stupid move trakt.

Limiting the watchlist is an absolute insane move. I really cannot understand this succession of unpopular decisions on Trakt lately right when Letterboxd is on the verge of adding TV. It’s like the team behind Trakt wants their users to leave.
