Why don’t the animated movies, shows and cartoons, have the “children” tag genre? It’s either animation, or family. It would be nice to have that tag appear for movies and shows that are appropriate for kids (moreso than the “family” tag).
If you mean in this section, they do have some with the “children” tag
I’m assuming the ones that you are looking at, haven’t had the tag applied on TMDB (where trakt sources data from) although, I’ve noticed that TMDB doesn’t have a “children’s” tag option, it seems if you select the “kids” tag on TMDB, that seems to translate to Children on trakt.
Unless of course, someone at trakt is doing this manually

Like the user above said, we get the genres from TMDB, so the genre might just not be there. You can report any shows you think that the genres are wrong and a moderator will look at it too.
We can manually change them if necessary.

Are you able to confirm (not that I watch kids shows lol) that the “kids” genre tag on TMDB, is what translates to “Children” on trakt please?
