How does Trakt keep track of my location for services offered etc?

Short description of the issue

  • I’ve just moved from Canada to the UK. The streaming services available are quite different - in my settings it asks me to indicate my location but it is a free text field so I assume Trakt is not pulling location data from there. How can I ensure I am being given correct region specific information?

I’m not currently finding the option on the v3 website (and I don’t have the iOS app) but what you should be looking for is the Watch Now settings, which can be found:

  • on the v2 website, if you have access to it: Settings → General → Watch Now (about halfway down the page). You can select the country from a drop-down menu and the streaming services you have access to.
  • on the Android app: Your profile → Settings → General → All settings. This will redirect you to the v2 website, where you can follow the same path as above.

I hope this helps, and maybe that someone else can help with the information I’m missing.

I’ve been having a similar problem ever since v2 went away. v3 shows me streaming options for ALL countries which is about as useful as dead batteries. I can’t find any way to tell it just to show my country. Also I can’t find where to update my favorite streaming platforms. It was easy in V2. V3 makes everything harder. V2 was fun to use. V3 is a pain.
