I have created a calendar subscription for one of my lists. In the “Calendar” section, the subscription shows up and works as supposed to. If I use the iCal Feed (https://trakt.tv/calendars/subscriptions/12345.ics?slurm=123456789abcdef), TV shows show up which I have ignored for the calendar. That is, TV shows listed under “Calendar” with https://trakt.tv/settings/hidden. On the website view, they do not show up (correct behavior).
This looks like a bug to me with the iCal feed. I have tried recreating the subscription/feed, this did not help.
Would be great if the team could look into this as I really like to use the feed in my regular calendar apps on iOS but the ignored items flood the feed/calendar. Thanks!
Hi. I’m a bit confused. You’re able to add and delete entries on your list. Why would you need to hide them? If you don’t want them on the list, you can just edit the list.
My account is used as the family account. For us, progress/up next is “our” shows and then he has a list and I do. I have all of each of our shows hidden from the main calendar and progress but when I use the list’s ical, the episodes of the shows on the list are visible (but yes they are in my hidden items in trakt.tv settings). And everything works correctly in my iOS calendar where I’ve subscribed to the feeds.
Hi Kate and thanks for your reply. I am aware that I can create several lists and that I can add or remove shows from lists and that this also affects the iCal feed. I actually use several lists and several iCal feeds for different use cases (as you do, given your example).
However, on the calendar view on the website there is the button “Hide this show”. If you press this button, the show is hidden just from calendars, not for “Watched Progress & Up Next”. It shows up in its own section in the hidden items settings page. Such shows are hidden on the website in all calendars but not respective iCal feeds. I think this is a bug.
A workaround would be to add yet another list B to hide shows that I would otherwise keep on list A. With this workaround I could use the iCal feed for list A. I have enough lists for different use cases already. And this workaround would break other non-calendar use cases of mine. So I hope this bug gets fixed.
To make this easier to understand, here is my example. I am currently rewatching The Simpsons from season 1, currently at season 3. I keep The Simpsons on a dedicated list for shows I watch on my own and not with my wife. I do not want iCal information however for season 32 of The Simpsons. Given the bug described above, I would have to move The Simpsons to another list to not have them on the iCal feed for the “watching on my own” list. This would break however another use case to have the progress of all shows I am watching on my own on one list and to manage them and their progress from one list, not two.
