Could you be more specific? It will help us prioritize what to bring back for your use cases.
You should be able to leave the beta program, uninstall and reinstall the production app.

Will there be an option to revert back to the âold UIâ? I am guessing at some point the BETA version will be the ONLY version.
I for one, strongly dislike the âLiteâ style that seems to be rolled out to iOS and now Android aswell. Specifically, I prefer vertical scrolling (with or without grids) over the horizontal scrolling that seems to be the prevailing UI/UX at the moment. I see this happening on various different platforms. In your first post you describe it as a âfresherâ design. Fresher, for me atleast, translates to less cluttered which the Lite design doesnât achieve for me.
It seems that, as kcador already so poetically stated, we are not alone but we are not alone. So how will you cater to the group that is not alone in preferring the non-lite designs and intuitivity?
Yes, that is a good guess. You can currently get it back but only during the beta period.
Less cluttered is one of our bigger goal with the new design. I understand and taking note of your feedback about horizontal vs vertical scrolling. What else do you feel could be improved to feel less cluttered for you?
I see you posted in the đŹ New Trakt Feedback thread, Iâll answer there.
I will try and get back to you. Will have to use the New Trakt a bit more.
Righto, thanks!
Continue watching is currently forced to sort by recently watched rather than recently aired as what I chose as my Default.
iOS app and website (correct)
Android beta and LITE (not correct)
The Witcher and Georgies and Mandyâs first wedding should be at the top since they are newly airedâŚ
Yes, in future version you will have the same options everywhere.
Note: you donât even have to long press the ribbon button, a simple tap also works. I got confused ![]()
Okay, okay, I see the problem here. Yes, we will improve that! Thanks for your feedback!
One of you issue is a navigation issue that weâll get fixed. The other, the consistency issue, is due the maturity of the Beta. It will get fixed before we release the version to the public. Thank you for those feedbacks!
Here is what I take out of your feedback:
I will take that feedback to the team and discuss possible improvements to bring more clarity, structure and focus back to the Episode screen.
We take it ![]()
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Sorry, I thought you were referring to other sections in the app.
Currently, the Continue Watching used in the new experiences only has one sorting option. We will probably tweak this going forward.
In the meantime, we pushed an update of the beta version:
It really should give users the ability to have sorted not just by recently watched but also by recently aired. Not sure how this was not thought out as it has been an option for ages in trakt classic. Hopefully the tweak will happen soon and in New Trakt and android beta.
Itâs little things like this that makes me not like New Trakt.
Hi,
Got the new update of the app on Android today. Unfortunately canât say itâs in improvement for me.
6 issues i noticed immediately because i wanted to rate an episode:
Iâm a bit surprised about these changes - rating stuff and being able to see your own ratings seems the stuff ppl do most.
The new Android beta just doesnât do it for me. It looks almost exactly like Trakt Lite, which I never use because I simply donât like the way it looks.
I really donât like the horizontal scrolling under âContinue watchingâ, i want to see vertical items without having to click on them first.
I canât go without my Upcoming Schedule calendar. I use it daily. The Upcoming Schedule in the new app is not functioning like a calendar and doesnât feel very user friendly. I want to be able to scroll vertically. And Iâd like to see a calendar format almost exactly like it is in the current Android app, sorted by date and not: airing âin x daysâ.
I also dislike the fact that thereâs almost no header anymore. I like the fact that your header image from the desktop siteâs also visible on the Android app.
I much prefer the look and feel of the current Android app. Same goes for the mobile and especially the desktop website.
And to try to not only point out the negative. The new Android Beta app works very fast and very smooth, in that aspect itâs a lot better than the current Android app.
The recently watched are not in the right order. For example, a movie I watched on november, 10 2024 is directly followed by an episode I watched July 21 2025. And there are lots of missing dates in between.
Is there a setting button for the app ? I couldnât find one
I posted a couple times in the new Trakt feedback thread, not realizing this was a better place for it. After reading this post, it is nearly impossible to give good feedback about this version with so many things missing.
I agree with people that it is speedy.
My takeaways not related to all the missing content. The horizontal scrolling is terrible. Each item takes up too much space widthwise and it makes it more cumbersome to get to what I want to. Anything that adds clicks or time to my interactions is not a plus for me. I also hate the way the social feed and my own activity is combined into a tabbed experience. I look at both regularly and it is much nicer to scroll down a little to see one and then the other. Again, extra clicks is never a good thing to me. The movie related content is taking up a big chunk of screenspace that is totally irrelevant to me. I do not use this site for movies. Sorry, Letterboxd is just a better experience there. It would be great to just have an option to turn off movies from everywhere on the site in one setting. I donât want it cluttering my main page or adding blank parts to wrap ups. The rest of my issues stem from all the missing stuff that is going to be implemented later. I am not confident in how they will be implemented based on this initial content though. It is very disappointing. I cancelled my renewal of VIP after 7 years of being on this site. I just canât see this as the long term vision of the site being anything I will want to continue with.
Trakt have a very unique business model and appear to not ever listen to their users anymore. Putting in effort to deliberately make things worse, remove features and take the app back to basics with a lite version, which would be more suitably named trakt from temu. Itâs almost like they want to bankrupt and liquidate the business in the near future.
I started looking into alternatives this afternoon. Mine expires here in March, so I have some time to figure it out and Trakt has some time to make things right. Feeling doubtful on that second one happening.
Edit: Donât know why the forums wonât properly connect my replies to the original comment.
There are missing features Iâve used daily on the old app:
My lists are messed up in the app too. They were organized a certain way but this update messed it all up. It wonât show me the show episodes and movies together. And I canât stand the UI. Please give us an option to go back to the old design. It was so much better. Iâd much rather use the old one than whatever this new thing is.
I use the Trakt Android app daily (Pixel 6a), and the other night it updated to the new Beta experience. One of the features I LOVE about the old app is that by taping on an actor and going to their page, I can immediately see the list of movies theyâre in from my watched history. On the new experience, it shows a list of their popular shows and movies, but now I have to scroll and hope I recognize a poster (not hard, just really annoying compared to the previous quality of life).
I also loved how on the old experience, the actors page had their character name listed below each poster. This was extremely helpful, especially in TV shows, to figure out where I recognized someone from.
Neither of these are available on the desktop ânewâ version either, sad day!
I know yâall are working on getting filtering added to the experience, so possibly this could be done through that? I would love to have filter settings save, so I donât have to re-filter on every new actors page each time I want to see where I know them from.
Overall, I want to like the new design, but it is going to take a lot of getting used to after 3 years on the old design, lol. Iâll get there. And I know itâs in Beta, so Iâll just have to use both the old and new at the same time during this transition (like on desktop, there is almost no settings options in the ânewâ, where on the âoldâ I can see and set so many features, like the Plex integration. But thatâs a different topic for a different thread).
Not to be overdramatic but as someone who had Trakt as a core part of my hobbie since I was 14 years old (been a member for 13 years now!) itâs kind of heartbreaking how thereâs such an effort to destroy everything that makes Trakt what weâve been using and loving for so long. It looks like youâre trying to change the core of what it is to attract a new audience while completely dismissing the ones whoâve been here for over a decade. At this point, the feedback feels pointless. Itâs just sad to be honest.
After being a VIP for 12 years I think this might be the time I leave for good.
I think the changes being made have fundamentally made the experience worse.
Trakt used to offer something that other competing services did not and at a great price.
With the up-coming price increase and a latest changes to Desktop and Mobile Apps I just donât like the direction you are choosing to go.
I might stick around for a little bit, just to see if improvements are made, but Iâm not holding my breath on it.
