I’m finding it extremely frustrating. If I add a show to my watchlist I get notifications about new episodes yet I haven’t started watching the show I just added as a future watch. Could notifications not be made to just include things from the up next section.
Can you please check your settings to see if you have this opition turned on:
That might be the reason why you are getting those notifications.
I think you’re misunderstanding the goal of the watchlist.
It’s not for stuff you’ve started, but for stuff you plan to watch. If you’re already watching it, you can find it in Up Next/Progress section.
I think you should just disable all upcoming notifications. (screenshot from iOS)
The episode notifications are currently based on your calendar and there’s unfortunately not much configuration right now. Because Watchlist items get added to your Calendar those episodes will be included. Your current options are to (neither of these are ideal imo but might work for you):
- Disable notifications as @lifeiscrazy mentioned above.
Or
Doing this will require unhiding from calendar once you’re ready to see them (https://trakt.tv/settings/hidden/calendars/title)
- Hide that show from your calendar. This will stop notifications but also hide it from your calendar/upcoming schedule which may not be what you want either.
I thought it was just based on watchlist somehow but it actually makes sense that it’s based on calendar haha.
Ithiink that was a big reason for me wiping my watchlist all the series/episodes there I wasnt actually watching (yet/ever) in my upcoming schedule and iOS calendar.
Yeah I guess it makes sense that you’d see at least the first episode (or season?) show up based on your watchlist, so that you can see it started etc, but perhaps it’d make more sense to not include any excess until you’ve started watching it. Everyone probably has a different preference
