Is there a way to display movies that intersect on two (or more) lists?

I shared a critic’s public list of greatest Toronto movies and wanted to see how many of them were on my personal waitlist but it seems I will have to “eyeball” it.

yeah there’s no sorting option or filter option that will show that but at the very least, while looking at that list, if an item is on one of your lists itll have the blue list button filled in. then you’d have to long click the list to see what lists its on

Thats only if you changed the settings though. I think default behavior is one click only.

ah yeah that’s fair. i think i changed my settings so i could quickly add to my watchlist and long press to add to others/multiple at a time.

Even a little visual cue that shows “this item is on one of your lists” (or if you are already looking at one list, that indicates it’s on at least one other list) would be a help.

it does do that. in the screenshot below from the website you can see Spirited Away is on at least one of my lists whereas The Pianist is not

this is from the public list IMDb top 250 movies

I have no way of knowing why exactly but what you describe does not apply when I look at this list I made via the Trakt app on my iPad (it displays differently when I view it via the web on my iPad as well, but still doesn’t do what I asked). Goin’ Down the Road is on a second list (my watchlist) while Rude is not.

Could it be something to do with the fact that the list I am viewing is public?

Well if you clone the list to your own account everything appears as on a list already… it only works when viewing a list from someone else.

The blue icon would be open. As in not filled in blue. Only the outline.

yeah those list icons are all filled in so they’re either on a personal list or the watchlist. if you click into Rude to see that movie’s details page you can see what list it’s on by clicking the plus icon to the right of it (all this assumes you’re on the website not the app)

in the app you can see something similar but like @lifeiscrazy mentioned you may need to either just press or long press depending on your settings

Yeah I see what went wrong - it is different because both lists are my own lists. Makes it a bit more of a niche problem I guess!

Still, my ideal solution would be something a little different if it was not too difficult - a tool to make a new list that consists of only movies/shows that are on all of two or more lists. Or maybe it is not a list but a search result?
