Lite up next sorting

Jumping in to say that on Lite my Dashboard Up Next defaults to “recent activity” even though I want it to display by date, with no apparent way to change this behavior. When I switch back from Lite it displays correctly and matches my settings.

Good point. I’ll see if I can find more details on this for you next week.

So for some extra context, it seems that the very high majority of users have their up next sorted by activity/watched date (whether due to it being the default or actually being the most logical for most users is a separate issue).

For your current preference, you mentioned ‘by date’, do you mean by release date (eg. the newest episodes show up first)? Could you share some extra details on how this works best for you? Like if you start watching something new that’s quite old, does that mean the item is essentially at the end of your list and therefore you have to scroll a long way to add new episodes to history? Or perhaps you have some form of scrobbling set up so you don’t actually manually add to history?

Yes, by released date. Because I tend to work through my media “bookends first”, meaning new shows that are currently or relatively recently released, and then oldest first. With sort by released I can easily (on web) sort or reverse sort the list to jump to either side.

Sorting by activity finishes out a single show, whereas by date prompts me, say, six series one episode at a time as they’re released, which is my wonky preference.
