I’m having an issue finding certain movies on Trakt after migrating over from TV Time (following the guide posted here on the forum).
If I understood correctly, Trakt sources its movie database directly from TMDB. I double-checked on TMDB and found all the missing movies there without any problem. However, I still can’t seem to locate them through Trakt’s search.
Since many of these are Italian titles, I’ve put together a small table below with the direct links to their respective TMDB pages for reference:
Am I missing something about how Trakt indexes non-English titles or handles TMDB sync? Any help or advice on how to find or add them would be greatly appreciated!
from my understanding, each entry needs an english title translation and summary (i only checked one of the entries and saw that it had that), and also needs to have one of the external IDs added to it (IMDb/TVDB for series, IMDb for films, and the one i checked had both). in the cases where those are all in place it can take up to 24 hours from when that is all added to import into trakt. from that point if its still not auto-importing, support will need to review it in case the items were hidden for being previously marked as adult or if there was a duplicate page that existed that they can remove
Hi, thanks a lot for your reply. Actually, I didn’t add these movies myself, so they’ve definitely been in the TMDB system for more than 24 hours (if I understood correctly what you wrote). So how should I proceed? Which support team should I reach out to? I’m not sure about duplicates, but they are definitely not adult content. Thanks!
usually @Sonply will take a look but you can always ping @ support (without the space) or message the support directly. he’ll take a look at their database to correct anything. as far as the adult flag, if a user marked something on tmdb as adult even if it wasn’t and that record makes its way into trakt, it gets hidden automatically so they’d need to fix that manually.
the one i checked did have the required ids and all the other stuff added long ago so there must be a duplicate or the adult flag on it for them to fix
