For over a decade, Trakt has helped millions of people keep track of what they watch, discover what’s next and connect with a passionate community.
Over the past year, we’ve been rebuilding parts of Trakt from the ground up to make it faster, cleaner and ready for the decade to come.
That project, code name LITE, is now the foundation for everything ahead.
Today, we’re officially saying it: LITE is the New Trakt!
The big picture
We’re entering a new chapter where each part of the Trakt ecosystem has a clear role:
- Trakt Classic → The website experience many of you know and love. It is now in maintenance mode: stable, supported and available while we transition.
- New Trakt → The modern app experience. This is where we’re focusing our energy: faster, more consistent and future-proof.
- Third-party apps → A key part of the Trakt ecosystem. Many offer their own take on features like Up Next, layouts, or filtering. That is by design. Trakt is a Platform, not a one-size-fits-all experience.

Why rebuild Trakt
Trakt is built for the future. Its modernized foundation lets us move faster, ship with confidence and bring new features to life without compromise.
It already delivers a smoother, more reliable and more accessible experience with a consistent design across web, iOS, Android, Apple TV and Android TV, along with broader support for more devices, regions and languages.
We are evolving Trakt while keeping what you care about intact. Your account, history, watchlists, lists, ratings and comments remain the same and stay fully in sync across all experiences, including your favorite third-party apps.

Trakt serves many different people and workflows. With the New Trakt, our goal is to serve most users exceptionally well, while recognizing that other experiences may fit specific needs better.
Trakt is an ecosystem: one account, shared data, and many ways to track, share and discover movies and TV shows. Many third-party apps offer their own takes on features like Up Next, notifications, and how your data is presented. That diversity is part of what makes Trakt strong!
