Why isnât it reported and I have to read it here first? That was the main reason why I couldnât use the new app. Now I can finally test them

My use case for Trakt is social with my group of friends by:
My friends however are losing interest as providing ratings has become confusing (out of ~10 users, only 3 have not killed/abandoned their Trakt account).
A mix of 5 stars vs 10 stars. The button to provide ratings looks different in different places, sometimes is visible sometimes not. You need to rate in 5 star scale on mobile and you get 10 star scale output in RSS.
My opinion: 10 heart rating system was great. Especially with the Trakt explanations behind each heart (ie weak sauce and totally ninja). Please bring that back and have it available in all views so Movies, Shows, Seasons and Episodes can be easily rated from 1-10 
Iâve never commented here, but I need to say that the new visual UI is extremely confusing, unappealing, and far from what is expected from Trakt. I just want to track what I watch, not face unintuitive challenges while navigating in this. For now Iâll be using the old dashboard, and I expect you to revert these changes.
Next time I suggest you do a beta testing and gather feedback before advancing with these drastic changes that make users want to jump out of the ship.

They need to find a way to involve the people who use the full V2 website. I suspect that up until now only the people who use âLITEâ were the ones commenting because they were the only ones seeing the changes day to day, so they were catering to an audience that wants simplicity and doesnât want features. They need to focus on the V2 people who pay for a full experience. They made the URL change, and suddenly the people who turned off âLITEâ months ago were slapped in the face with a featureless website equivalent of an app.
I am using this on Firefox on my PC.
Why does it keep redirecting me to the new app.trakt.tv instead of the classic url? It does not want to go to the normal/classic url if I am not logged in.
But I want to see some things in my private browser session, as it then does not keep my browser history etc.
Beside that in the new trakt it also auto translates just about everything. I just want to read it in English not any other language. As I find translated items to miss some points.
And when I am on the new trakt app, the information there is barely 5% of when on the classic. Like it doesnât show me the actors, if a movie is part of series like Indiana Jones it doesnât show it. And more it doesnât show.

You are right about the actors not showing. Itâs the same for TV Shows. It only shows the Series Regulars. If the actors are Guest Stars, you canât see them in the new app. This is really infuriating and it also doesnât show where Iâve seen an actor before anymore.
The best would have been, that they waited with the release until the new version is more polished and not more then half of the features that users like are missing.

Are you talking specifically about the app? Cause I think I can see them in the web version. And since they said they want to unify platforms, Iâm 99% sure itâll also come back to the app.

Because they redid the entire codebase. Theyâre slowly adding all features back, not actively removing them.
I tried out the new look as well and I also do not like it at all for the most part. The only thing I like is that it takes up more space in my browser and I can see more at the same time since the old version is restricted in width. That is about the only thing I like.
Everything else feels like a streaming platforms or imdb UI - and honestly, I hate those. Which is why I love Trakt so much, it does not look like the annoying streaming platforms look with their horizontal scrolling and lists I do not want to see.
What I personally use Trakt a lot for is basically journaling my watches, finding out what the streaming platforms I currently use are showing and discover new things to watch.
To journal my watches I use lists a lot - for example I put episodes, seasons, shows and movies on lists based on where when and how I watched them. I watch a lot passively on tablet, but also without doing anything else on TV etc. So I have lists for which device I watched something on etc. If in the future I canât put single episodes or seasons or people on lists, It will significantly reduce my experience and the way I want to use trakt. Also I use ratings a lot and I love the 10 point system. Especially the âexplanationsâ - when I am unsure what I would rate, I just look at the words âbad, fine, good, totally ninjaâ and I rate them accordingly. It makes it easier to compare.
As for what streaming platforms have and discovering new things I am not interested in any algorithms. I want to have as much flexibility as possible - for me that means and empty search and using the filters I want and need. For example to see the whole catalogue of the streaming platforms I currently use (I change them frequently) and seeing what they added since I last been there and havenât put on my watchlist yet. If it is not possible anymore to see the whole catalogue and use filters to explore I will be really annoyed.
Even if all the functionality the old trakt version has gets implemented in the new one, I still donât like the new look. As I said, it looks like every other website that has to do with media and I find all of them not great in terms of UI. Getting so much info on one glance on the old Trakt (production company, year, date, links to wiki, etc.) without having to search or click anywhere is the thing I appreciate a lot. Even more since all of it is linked and I can click on it to see more. A lot of it has been removed from the new version - and if feels like imdb, where I have to search forever to find more information if I want it.
So Iâd also be one of the people to really have to think about renewing my VIP if the new Trakt is my only option to use.

This thread is for the new âweb experienceâ, as in the desktop site, not the new apps. I believe there are iOS & Android beta threads if thatâs what youâre looking for.
I use trakt specifically for the progress page and donât use any of the other features at all (maybe with the exeption of putting a few shows on a âto watchâ list). The new Trakt version does not only not have the progress page (yet???), it also lacks any of the insight features. I like seeing how much Iâve already watched and how many hours that was. I like klicking on âseasonsâ or âepisodesâ and getting a quick green and red overview with numbers and checkmarks. I like seeing all the dates I checked in for that episode. I like hiding shows and bringing them back with the settings. The way Trakt lite is right now is, sadly, useless to me.
if you type trakt.tv and click sign in it will keep you at the v2 trakt. it doesnât force you into the v3 model. i just tried it on private browsing,my normal browser, and safari and firefox private browsing on my phone. only the sign in page looks remotely like the v3 page before it takes you back to v2
maybe for you but whenever I go to trakt on my mobile device I get that stupid new site.
I have to go to dashboard to get the normal site back. And god forbid I click on the logo when on another page. Then im back on that new site too.
