Proposal Add Fourth Row for Sorting Information on People Pages

My Dearest and Most Esteemed Developers,

I humbly beseech your assistance in refining the page layout for our cherished people pages, such as those honoring directors and actors. May I kindly request your help in adjusting the layout to enhance our presentation of the ‘Popularity’ and ‘Trakt Votes’ sorting options? The current arrangement of the first three rows is indeed quite splendid, but I believe a fourth row would provide additional clarity and elegance.

Here is my vision for the revised layout:

  1. The first row shall continue to grace us with the movie title, just as it does now.

  2. The second row should retain its role in displaying the year (YYYY) and, where applicable, the episode count for TV shows.

  3. The third row shall remain dedicated to the details of the person’s involvement in the movie or TV show, be it their role (e.g., director) or their name in the movie.

  4. For the new and forth row, I propose it should gracefully showcase sorting information based on the selected option. For instance:

    • When ‘Popularity’ or ‘Trakt Votes’ is selected: an example might be “80% — 12.3k votes.”

While I am acutely aware that such an addition may not be suitable for other lists due to potential visual clutter, I am confident that on people pages—celebrating our beloved directors and actors—this enhancement would be of great value. It would provide our users with a clearer and more detailed textual presentation of sorting data, enriching their experience while preserving the elegance of our layout.

Additionally, I must express my fondness for presentations adorned with twice the number of little red hearts, which never fail to add a touch of charm!

Thank you ever so much for your consideration and your dedication to enhancing our shared endeavors.

With the warmest regards and highest admiration,

Please post a screenshot of the section you are referring to. Is this on the Trakt website or Trakt app?

What i prefer a new 4th row to look like is: the 2nd row on

Just a friendly reminder: the functionality of the second and third rows on the people pages differs from that of standard lists. Please keep them as they are for now. Thanks! :innocent:

It’s possible that the information is already coded and exists on the people pages. However, the rows containing this information may be hidden to prioritize space for unique rows, which include details not found in the standard lists.

example what i prefer with 4 rows:

  • The Sound of Music
  • 1965
  • Director
  • 80% — 6.1k votes

To put it simply, I would prefer if the title, year of release, and number of votes—ideally all three—were visible simultaneously below the posters.

To me, what makes Trakt unique is its textual information. To make Trakt perfect in terms of list management, I would like the ability to sort lists by criteria such as release date or rank, and also have an additional row displaying information from a different sorting method. For example, if I sort a list by release date like this: Trakt list sorted by release date, I’d like an extra row that shows information based on another sorting category, such as voting data / or ratings from IMDb or Metacritic. I understand that this could make the site visually cluttered, so it should be an optional feature rather than a default one. This would be particularly useful for curated lists with a large number of movies.

p.s. I reflected on why I enjoy seeing those vote numbers consistently, and I realized it’s likely because of the sense of community it gives me. Those large lists with posters, along with the visible vote count, create a cozy and safe environment, making it feel like a close-knit community. Each vote represents a person, and those little red hearts add a personal touch, making it feel even more connected. I’m not sure if this is enough sweet-talking to get it implemented, though!
