What is the consensus on adding a decimal point (or two) to the rating system?
I know one could say we already have it with a 10 digit system compared to the 5-star system. Personally, I always seem to find myself rating 6 - 8 and would like to be able to fine tune it a little better.
Maybe you wouldn’t even add it to the standard rating option
We’ve thought about this before, but ultimately decided to stick with a 10 point scale. In the early Trakt days we actually started with a simple heart up/down and that was it. We modified to a 10 heart system after a little while. I can see how a more precise rating system is useful for some members, but based on feedback we received back then a standard 10 point scale seemed to be preferred.
I would be against it. I actually even think up and down would be good. To me mostly a movie is just something I enjoy or not. And I’m not hard to please ;-). I already have a hard enough time what to rate deciding between 6 to 8
This is something that comes up quite a lot when I’m among my friends (that use Trakt). We would love to be able to use half hearts to further extend the rating. This would make it easier to keep consistency in your own rating to differentiate between movies.
