Re-authlenticate Trakt

When I start Kodi, after about 25 seconds I get a pop up window saying to re-authenticate Trakt.

I get the same pop up when viewing movies or tv shows on FEN Lite, The Crew, or Umbrella.

I should add that Trakt is working just fine. after watching movie or series, it am asked to rate it and the rating is successful. Everything is working fine, but it’s annoying to have the pop ups while viewing.

So far I have de-authorized in kodi, revoked in Trakt and re-authenticated in kodi, but it didn’t help.

I’ve also repeated the above with each of the addons (FEN lite, Crew, and Umbrella) with no luck

Please contact the third-party active developer directly.

Did you ever get a fix fo this, as i am having the same issue.

Hey welcome to the forum. Sonply mentioned to contact the third-party dev directly.

Maybe we can’t get a response from the developer regarding this issue so we came here. When Trakt worked flawlessly all this time and suddenly stopped working with no change in dev’s code, it sort of makes you wonder if it may be something on Trakt’s end esp with all the “pro-consumer” type changes going on lately.

Been having this issue for a while now……. Keeps asking to re-authenticate Trakt, when i do it works fine for about half hour then i get the same pop up message. No longer tracks my watched programmes or anythging… very frustrating

This is not a Trakt issue and better addressed elsewhere (suggest Reddit addons4kodi sub). However, when the popup appears, note the icon on the left of the popup which should indicate which addon is having the issue. Alternatively, disable all but one video addon. Revoke authorization on that addon, reauthorize and test. Repeat with each video addon.

it is a trakt issue, it’s the Trakt add on that pops up with the trakt icon next to it. If I disable the trakt add-on I don’t get that message popping up.

What version of Kodi? Any errors in Kodi.log?

Latest version, not checked log. It’s been working fine up until around 6-8 months ago, I’ve seen dozens upon dozens of similar posts by people.

Has anyone found an answer to this? I have tried disabling TRAKT addon but it did not help. I am sick of re-authenticating TRAKT every day. If I don’t re-authenticate TRAKT does not work with my addons. Can someone help?

I’m still having the same [problem, been like this for months now. It’s Trakt itself that has the issue, as if I re authenticate it, it’s fine for a couple of hours and then starts again. I’ve given up.

If you want to prove it’s trakt you could create a new account and see if it also makes that ones authorisation expire.
I’m also having to deal with this shit,but takes maybe 8h for mine to reset.

I’m a frequent (daily) user and the only times I’ve had this occur is (sometimes) when using the account manager addon or other addons which have either recently been updated or need updating. I don’t think I’ve had to reauthorize in over a year.

And yet it is still a problem. On top of which, Trakt is just not working in general. My calendar, click on “today” and you get a weeks worth of shows, Click on a show, and it returns no streams or an error with the add-on ( Fen-lite) however, go into any other Trakt list and click on the same show, it returns lots of streams and no error messages. This all started around June 1 and Trakt, continues to deny that this is their problem, when it clearly is. On top of which they are now raising prices. HMMMMMMMM. I have used trakt for a decade and I hav never been so disappointed.

Did you use Account Manager to authorize at some point? Check your Connected Apps on the Trakt Settings webpage to verify. I had to remove Account Manager and uninstall/reinstall my addons.

Thank you for replying. I am Absolutely not using Account manager. I even uninstalld Kodi and installed a fresh copy in order to authorize and hopefully correct the other Trakt issues I am having. Also the New versions of Diggz does not even have that as an option. All Add-ons are authorized individually. My bigger concern is the problems imbedded throughout the trakt program on Kodi. The problem with the calendar I described in my post. Also, I click on (many) of the lists and no lists come up just a generic menu of headings (with no content) Movies shows etc. All of this started around June 1 and other than a moderate improvement in authorization frequency the other problems make Trakt more trouble than its worth at times. Diggz can’t help and Trakt considers these 3rd party issues and won’t engage. So……
