Hey guys,

are you planning to implement a way to share things on mastodon? I know that their is a way to cross post from twitter, but not anybody has an twitter account.

You can do this with Zapier and the RSS feed.

It would also be a good way to show 3rd party developers that trakt doesn’t agree with Twitter’s way of suddenly blocking all 3rd party apps that the platform has benefited from for years.

If trakt doesn’t see a problem in continuing to offer only Twitter with no alternative, as a 3rd party developer I might worry that trakt will eventually do the same thing (even though I don’t really think @justin would do that, which he has also stated here)

I would also like it if trakt would crosspost the trakt and traktapi twitter accounts to Mastodon

I started looking into this and plan to offer native sharing once I figure it out. I created an official Trakt mastodon account (linked in the website footer) and it seems someone else already created a bot account (not official from us).

Do you know if I can mirror tweets and also post stuff directly using the same mastodon account?

Hopefully, you are also answering questions on mastodon. A lot of user only cross post their twitter feed without being active on mastodon. I don’t like that.

What’s the point of posting a toot from a tweet? The point is to get away from Twitter.

I too am curious about posting from Trakt to Mastodon.

That was more for me to have it cross post from Twitter to our official Mastodon account. Sharing would be a native integration sending directly to Mastodon.

Now that a large number of people are choosing Mastodon for social networking, it’d be great to have it as an option to share to.

Mastodon sharing is now available! Connect your account at https://trakt.tv/settings/sharing and configure your sharing options. It works very similar to Twitter sharing.

I see there’s also a link in the top menu on the forums. And also for twitter. But it links to a wrong non existing twitter account.

Oh wait nvm now it works. But before it said the account wasn’t found and then I thought maybe it’s @trakttv or something.

Very weird. Just twitter acting up!!
