I once saw a feature in a different app that as part of your general stats / profile, it listed a few movies that you rated the furthest away from the average rating - say the 3 items which you rated the most points above average, and the 3 items which you rated the most points below average.
I agree. This is exactly the type of feature Trakt needs to take from Letterboxd (like seeing the average score under Actor or Director which also has Letterboxd done really well) to go further into social movie site, and not just being ordinary movie/show database, with immersing look.
I think it could work like another ,page" (History etc.) where you can see movies where you are farthest from average → average > farthest from average. So you can (through the arrow) choose if you want to see it from ,Above Average" to ,Below Average" or opposite. (with some information (how much you are far from average).
3 or 5 biggest examples should be showed on public profile, and also in the Year and All Time stats.
Can’t that just be “solved” by adding a line with average rating to the rating distribution on your profile and if you click more maybe add rating distribution of just movies. And just shows (maybe even optional seasons and episodes. I don’t like those as I rarely rate them). And then add like a red line where your mean is? You can click on the bars to see the outliers.
I think it’s neat without needing more “clutter” to the profile. It doesn’t need to become the trakt life in review hahaha.
Also how do you rank the biggest outliers. A 10 is a ten and a 1 is a 1. And if you use the full rating scale one of these will always be the outlier. Usually the 1 unless someone dislikes a lot and has a mean of below 5 hahaha.

Not sure we’re talking about the same thing. Sounds like you’re discussing movies which I rated farthest from my average movie rating. I agree that this would not be particularly useful.
My idea is regarding the movies which I rated farthest away from the average trakt rating for that movie. For example: I gave The Party’s Just Beginning a 9, while the average rating for that movie is 6.3. And I gave Reservoir Dogs a 6, while the average rating for that movie is 8.2.
I think this could be an interesting feature which would give me more insight into the unique taste of others (and myself for that matter).
