Is there a way to fix or update titles with incomplete data.
For example the extended editions of the LoTR trilogy has incomplete casts and Writer/Director.

you’ll need to make the updates over in TMDB’s website or TVDB (if not migrated to TMDB yet). be sure to read up on their posting bible from both sites as there are rules. and if rules are broken, you will be warned by their mods and possible ban.

Regarding the extended versions of the LOTR, they have been deleted from tmdb as extended versions are not supported (yet?) on the website. But they were still kept on Trakt. So you can’t really add new information to them. But if a title is on tmdb you can.

yea… extended versions and director’s cuts are not very straightforward over at TMDB. generally, they don’t allow them, but i think if they are “big enough” of difference, they would allow it, but i think that rarely happens. I think one exception was Zach Snyder’s Justice League vs the original theatrical cut of Justice League by Joss Whedon. i don’t dare even mess around with extended and director’s cuts lolll
