Trakt link opens the app

Is there a possibility to implement where e.g. If I click on trakt link for the movie somebody shared me and I’m on smartphone, it will rather open in Trakt app instead of browser. Something like that Youtube and other social medias have. Picture below as what it should be (every smartphone has that), a list of web addresses. Kind of annoying

I mean the button is always toggled on, but if it’s empty list it will open in browser rather in app. Not sure how “linking” works in the app, but as far as I know, If I click to share something from the app, it will be same adress as from desktop/browser

It should already do this, I just tested in iOS and it opened the app to the movie page for the Trakt link after I clicked on it.

Guess, it’s just IOS because on android it doesn’t work. Opens the web

yep i just tried on android and it opens the web. In the app settings on android there’s an option to open supported links in the app but i’m unable to turn the setting on so can’t add any links there.

Duplicate topic I suppose

Yeah, the Android app seems to be several months behind the iOS version when it comes to features. Some features seem to have been neglected entirely.

Ive noticed this with several features now. Maybe this is a process or operational issue worth considering? Or maybe the team just lacks the bandwidth (understandably).

Related issue on the Android app, opening up the IMDB page from Trakt also just opens in a webpage instead of opening in the IMDB app.

That works fine for me, it initially opens my default browser but I then get a popup to open an external app, which opens imdb app. Worth checking if you have the imdb app set to open supported links.

Yeah that’s how it works for me but on the iOS app it just opens up the IMDB app without having to interact with a popup

Yeah the popup gives me an option to remember my choice so subsequently I no longer get the browser popup, it opens imdb straight away.
