Iâm a little confused as to why we need to file a feature request to re-implement something that was in the previous version of the site? Particularly when that feature had recently been updated in the last few months to include details like whether you had purchased it physically or digitally and what resolution it was in. That doesnât make sense to me.
i donât have a good answer for you. theyâre reworking the site and want to see what priority levels people put for various features and functions. they should have kept the feature the way it was but with a new codebase it may not be the same
I mean, I totally get doing a total ground up revamp, but feature parity is important before you cut over permanently,. My customers at the day job would riot if we ever did anything else. And if something has to specifically be retired, thereâs mandatory customer notifications well ahead of time with the sunset dateâŚ
My library (once upon a time, my collection) is there, but I canât sort it by TV shows or movies or any other criteria. I would like to transfer it to a list and I canât do that either. So, will I literally need to move thousands of movies one by one?
How do I track more than one episode at a time like before? Now when I select "watched until hereâ it applies to the ENTIRE series. Before, I could do the entire series OR per season.
I canât easily see rating % on seasons or episodes like you can when scrolling for the entire seires or movies. I donât want to have to click on each episode to see how they are rated. That would take forever vs scrolling.
It is really challenging to see my progress on seasons and shows.
Why canât I make episode lists full-screen? The side screen is really challenging to navigate and read it. Why canât I see the sentiment (AI summary of reviews) above the review section and why must I click on the box to see the entire summary as a pop on the side. Usually I scroll to see everything I need. Now there are so many buttons and different parts with side panels.
I donât track when I see something; I donât care about that. Now every single time I track something, I need to select an option.
OkayâŚbut what about when the link to Plex is broken? Weâre given a reworked âCollectionâ in the form of a library, where we are to add to it via 3rd PartyâŚâPlexâ. Even provide us a setting for it. Only itâs a completely broken page.
I paid because I loved the feature-rich V2 experience. I too âdo everything manuallyâ, if that means when I watch something on my PVR I come to the website and find the episode and mark it as watched with the exact time I finished.
Before I found trakt I used an excel spreadsheet (which got very complex over time, but I like it). Because Iâve been badly burned before by very nice websites going bust and all my data disappearing, I still use my spreadsheet. But very little in V3 is nicer than the pre-trakt days. I loathe pixel-thin scrollbars which are almost impossible to use, for a start. They are obnoxious and hostile to the user who is trying to scroll. I want the browser and the UIâs scrollbars which I configure myself to be FAT and very easy to grab, like UIs have been for 30 years.
And this new-fangled âminimalâ style places useability and features a long way below what the designer thing looks pretty.
Iâve always loved seeing my stats and V3 has needlessly taken away several stats I liked seeing. I liked seeing how many episodes of a show Iâve watched and how many plays of that show Iâve watched. Now I have no clue how many plays I have for shows like The Simpsons and The Office that I wonât do a rewatch of, but Iâll just watch random episodes. Also, I liked seeing my total TV Plays and Movie plays that the old dashboard had. The time watched was interesting too. Now that is gone and the only thing I see is an estimate of how many TV episodes and movies Iâve watched. These may seem like small things, but it was one of the things I liked about Trakt and weâve lost it with this change to V3.
Please bring back V2. V3 is clearly not ready. When I search, I canât seem to filter anymore and totally irrelevant things are shown first. No more notes on my lists - I relied on those for trigger warnings for movies on my watchlist. Lots of stats are missing and everything just feels so unintuitive. You know what your users liked and they are telling you clearly this isnât it. Please, listen to your users and at the very least roll this back until itâs actually functioning fullyâŚ
Another longtime VIP user echoing so many othersâ frustrations with v3, for the dozens if not hundreds of reasons others have laid out. Iâm not even a power user, but things like not being able to hide already-watched shows in my calendar (even though the button is there) is nowhere near the ânot forcing VIP users into v3 until itâs fully functionalâ that was quoted to us several months ago.
That all being said, I cannot find a way to to see what new shows are premiering. I get the weekly digest, which is great, but so many things change as the week goes on, as showsâ premier dates get changed, or new shows get added after the weekly email goes out.
Okay, so the âcontinue watchingâ area does not show % complete anymore, and the filter is useless. I want to be able to filter like before: number of episodes left, runtime left, etc. Am I missing something???
Probably everything has been said about the issues of v3, but still, here are two my biggest problems, maybe there is a solution that Iâm not aware of:
I used the calendar to discover new shows that would premiere in the next month or two, having the calendar only to see the shows I follow is a big downgrade to me (the Discover/Anticipated features are not really a substitution, but being able to sort these for release date would help a little bit)
not having the option to change the country for the âWhere to watchâ feature is also really annoying, used it all the time
I have a VIP subscription until 2028, so Iâll stick around and see how v3 develops, but I will also be actively testing alternatives
Absolutely agree. Iâve been a VIP for 8 years, and I feel lost in this V3. Who even asked for a V3, anyway? V2 was just fine. Please give us the option to choose our preferred interface, at least in the web version.
Horizontal scrollbars are even worse, regardless of how fat they are.
Those scrollbars in your picture are way to thin and what I was complaining about. (For example, on this forum on this very page - too thin). I want my browerâs scrollbars for every website on the world wide web, permanently visible. I do NOT want each website to design their own, or make them disappear and force me into a stupid âhunt the scrollbarâ exercise where I have to guess where they are by moving the mouse around. (Gmailâs left-nav is a prime example of this idiocy. I loathe it).
Edit: Iâve just tried it and I still have the horrible disappearing scrollbars, which are half the size of the scrollbars here on the forum, which themselves are also way too thin.
@great_vc Very sadly, I donât think they decided, feature by feature, which ones to remove. I think they started from a blank sheet of paper, threw everything away that was working brilliantly which we all LOVED, and then decided which of the 20% of features to build from scratch for V3. Knowing this would be a huge change, then came the promises not to move us onto V3 until everything was properly implemented.
