šŸš€ Trakt Product Update – June & Mid-July 2026

Where are the calendar filters I had in v2?

Why can’t I filter by network/service, or by premiere? And why can’t I save that filter?

How do I hide a specific season? I saw how to track one, not hide one.

The Premiere badge is somewhat broken too. When the first 2 episodes are released at the same time, the Premiere badge doesn’t show on the Releases page. Take the show ā€œLuckyā€ as an example. Or ā€œKitchen Nightmaresā€ Season 3. Either show 2 posters (one for each episode) or make sure the Premiere badge shows when more than 1 episode is released at the same time.

I used to log in via Google. At the time I created my Trakt account, I wasn’t using a gmail email address, so it tied the account to the email address I had on record with Google. At some point, I started using a gmail email address on that Google account. Google automatically sets the default email address to the gmail one at that point. When transitioning to Trakt v3 and logging in via Google, it used the gmail email address and treated me as a new user. I had to log in to Trakt via my original email address instead of Google, which worked, thankfully, to get back to my account. Bottom line, that’s a bug: when people log in via Google, I’m sure there’s a ID you can key off rather than the email address to validate the person’s identity.

Aside from bugs, I get that there’s not going to be a 1-to-1 feature parity with such a big change, but you have to get the fundamentals in place. Filtering is singularly poor and lacking in v3. Get that back and you’ll have a lot less complaints.

PS: And respond to the negative feedback - people will appreciate seeing you engaged…

I spent most of my time on Trakt on the Progress page. Continue Watching does not replicate all of the functionality of that page. I can no longer see any show that I’ve completed on that page, and toggling ā€œWatchedā€ on the filter does not bring them back. This means I have no way to see all of the shows I’ve watched in one place, unless I want to scroll through 10 years of History by episode (I don’t). Progress had a filter to see completed series and this should be an option somewhere. I was apparently expected to be making Lists of these shows, but why did I need a list when it was always right there in Progress?

Additionally, I did have one list - a list of actors I like to keep up with. That list is now empty.

I use Vivaldi as my browser and updated it not too long ago, but I’m suddenly not allowed to access Trakt through my regular browser. I want to use this site without having to open a second browser.

None of this makes me likely to pay for another year of Trakt. I hope everyone’s issues are resolved quickly.

This new ā€œProgressā€ Page is such trash and doesn’t give you any information other that the old one did. Building a page and calling it progress to keep the users ā€œhappyā€ but removing all of the functionality and data that the page used to provide is useless. It’s not helpful and clearly missed the point.

I liked that there was data on the top of the page that said how many shows I was in the middle of. Had the percentage and progress bar. Could break down by season (especially for unscripted and non-serial shows where episode order matters less). Doesn’t count a show as caught up just because I watched the most recent episode even if i’ve missed 100 episodes before it. Told me how much time I had left to watch all of the shows in Progress and specific series as well. All it has now is a dumb thumbnail of the show I could have gotten from Wikipedia without needing to give you money for the past 10 years.

What’s especially galling about it is that you knew people were mad and upset. I wasn’t one of those people. I posted it forums. I’ve given feedback. I’ve flagged glitches. And I gave you my honest opinions about what was lacking from v3 and what it would take to convent me. And 1 year later, NONE of those things have been implemented and yet you convert everyone over with very little notice, and expect everyone to just be fine with it. V3 is not the website I have paid for, my renewal is up soon, and if things don’t change fast, what has there been to convince me to stay with this site?

Totally. The forcing of this rebrand has been horribly implemented and now I can’t even access the website! I try to log in and clicking on the login does nothing! Simple functionality is lost and they’re expecting us to pay for the privilege. We’ve been let down and are being ignored.

I hate it that I have to scroll half a page to see the last movie I watched. Same for not being able to feature the custom list, somewhere up the top. Why do I need to see my favorites up the top of the profile page? I know my favorite movies, I don’t need to have them displayed all the time. I want to be able to check out my last watched movie/series, quickly, without having to scroll through tons of useless crap.

I’m trying to give this redesign a chance, but my god it’s so hard to like it.

Am I blind? Is there no way to filter the calendar to only show premieres? That was a must have feature for me. Please tell me it still exists and I’m just not seeing it.

Please just allow me to go back to the classic Trakt UI. I can’t figure out how to go back to it.

I love Trakt, please stop ruining it.

classic/v2 has been sunset for all users, there’s no switching to it like we used to

My 2 biggest complaints/questions right now (but there are many many others) are why can’t I see how long the episodes and movies I’ve watched (per day)? I used to really like seeing that and now it’s not on the website or the app. It would be nice if it would show weeks and months as well. Related to this, why doesn’t it show what I’m currently scrobbling with the time left?

The second is why can’t I use a password to log in anymore?? I don’t want to wait for an email to login. I have a password manager with a strong password. Let me use it!

Hate to pile on here, but there are some fundamental issues here. For example, if I navigate to a show page, I can’t even see what episode I’m on. It defaults to my current season, but I have to click through to the weird side panel to see a list of episodes, then I can scroll down looking for the two faint checkmarks that look different for watched/unwatched episodes. This feels like basic table stakes for one of the fundamental units of the TV show tracking experience.

I’m really frustrated that we’re being forced to use the new layout. I feel completely lost trying to navigate it, and things that used to be visible on my profile, like the notes on my favorites, seem to be missing.

I had my profile set up the way I wanted it, including paying for VIP so I could use a custom header image. Now the image is barely visible in the background, which makes the feature feel almost pointless. Your current VIP page still advertises ā€œProfile Header Imageā€ as a paid feature, but the new layout barely shows it.

I understand that websites change, but removing the option to use the old layout while also making paid profile features worse is really disappointing.

got in the new version (on the web) and library is unusable at least to me. When you chose movies you get all the movies but you don’t have a filter for watched/unwatched anymore (we used to be able to mask whichever we wanted of them), you don’t have any sorting options (filters are grayed out) and you don’t get any info like how many movies are there. In the tv shows things are even worst as apart from the above you end up with a list of episodes and not actual tv shows so now my library list which used to be something like 750 titles is close to 15.000 episodes and completely useless to me. Also i don’t understand why library defaults to plex and not to custom.

Also the VIP management page is missing the subscription expiration date. Do note that the renewal date is not the same as the expiration date (like in my case) because the renewal date is on the birthday of your subscription purchase but to get to the expiration date you need to add any previous remaining subscription time due on the time of purchase (in my case it is something like plus 6 months).

Based on the above and since i am completely lost spending hours just to find the movies in my library that i have not yet seen or the tv shows that have new seasons, can we log in the v2 interface for the time being?

If you find one please share they ruined managing collections and using the last watched filter to help me with deciding which shows to rewatch

I had several lists of people, i.e., my favorite actors, actresses and some other groupings, the contents amounting to several hundred. Now these lists are completely empty and the ability to use lists to aggregate people details seems to have been removed.

I’m curious how many of the new features and improvements listed in V3 updates will be appreciated by users. As far as I can tell, the public replies are mostly from disgruntled users who miss V2’s nice features and design philosophy and may not be representative of the broader userbase. Anyway – although I’m one of the disgruntled users, I do appreciate that an effort was made to improve Trakt.

As V2 is gone forever, I’ve cancelled my subscription – for now. Multiple users have already detailed the many features that are missing or worse in V3, yet their concerns seem to have gone unheeded. I could have accepted the aesthetic downgrade (for my taste), but the reduced usability is confounding. I can’t find simple information like the percentage of a programme’s episodes I’ve actually watched, which used to have a clear, accurate visual indicator – now I can only see the number/percentage of episodes remaining after the last viewed episode, which is not the same thing at all and not nearly as useful. (At least, that’s the default functionality. I couldn’t find an option to change it. Perhaps the information I wanted to find is, in fact, accessible in V3, but this is just one example of the new design that feels odd and unintuitive to me.)

I’ve been an on-and-off VIP subscriber since 2020 – I originally subscribed to access the beta Android app (IIRC), but stayed primarily to support the service. I’m disappointed, honestly, but I’ll stick around until V3 improves or a superior alternative emerges. My subscription is already paid up until early 2028, so perhaps things will improve enough that I’ll want to resubscribe by then. Fingers crossed! Please listen more to community feedback, Trakt devs – even if some of it is couched in impolite terms, it’s well-meaning.

About the join date issue: I exported my data and opened the user_profile.json archive and it was there.

Oh, I found it like 30 seconds after I’d posted but for some reason it says I joined in 2020, which is at least 7 years off :sob:

What’s the point of having a Library if you can’t search or filter on it? Frustrated.

Ever since the ā€œClassic Trakt Pageā€ became unavailable last week, there have been connection issues with Emby and Tiny Media Manager (Get PIN). I think the authentication page can no longer be found after logging in.
