can you post a screenshot to help support
is this a third party media center like kodi or stremio? you might need to ask for support from them or update their app. trakt made some api changes recently
This is more like Nova, Cyberflix, BeeTV, Viva, etc. The ones that are add-on apps seem to still work. Well, I just tried to add something to my collection in STRMR, and that says it can’t upload either. Seems like uploading is not working for anything.
i know there was an issue the other day with oauth but can’t remember where i saw it so i don’t know if it’s been resolved. it could be that or it could the the api changes that the other apps and centers have not updated yet as well
Yeah, I still can’t add things to the collection list, even in the more dependable add-on apps, apparently. It couldn’t add anything to STRMR. I don’t know what to do, besides try to log in again, and that doesn’t solve anything. When I tried to add something to my collection, it just said “Trakt is not available. Please try again.” So, I logged out and logged back in, and same thing. It can’t be anything I did, because I have two Shields that are doing the exact same thing. I’ve tried logging on and off on all of them. No dice.
And it’s not just me. I just logged into the FB Trakt group, and sure enough others are describing the same problems.
This is what Google is saying. Exactly what I’m experiencing, and have also seen other people posting about this problem in the Facebook group.
It appears you aren’t the only one experiencing this. Recent reports on the Trakt forums from mid-May 2026 indicate that multiple users are having trouble with syncing, adding items to collections, and viewing their existing lists.
What is Happening
Widespread Reports: Users across various platforms (web, Android, iOS) have been reporting issues this month with items not showing up in collections, favorites disappearing, and general sync failures.
Well, at least I know it’s not just my problem.
i mentioned that it could be related to an oauth issue that trakt might be having OR all the third party apps need to update their api. in short there’s nothing you can do other than report it to the app developers so they can fix it
Where would I report it? I don’t know who to report it to. I thought this was the only support? I would assume a lot of people would be reporting it, right now, if they knew how.
you’d have to go to the developers of each addon or platform. check the associated reddits for them to report there
Oh, well that’s not going to happen. How can this go unknown, if so many people are having this problem? It’s every app that uses Trakt, now. None are working. ![]()
like i said it was an api update so those developers need to update their api calls. if they’re actively developing their addon still then they should be updating as these things break but if an addon isn’t in active dev anymore then there’s a good chance it won’t get fixed. the developers should know about these changes and just need to update or implement them
Well, that sucks!!! You would think the biggest ones would already know and be ready for that, or be working on it immediately. It doesn’t even work with Kodi. I mean, nothing. Since this started, I haven’t found a single one that works, now. Thanks for the info, but it still sucks!!! They’ve basically made Trakt useless for everyone, for who knows how long? ![]()
all the more reason to report it to them in case they don’t know
I have so many 3rd party apps, and really no way to get in touch with their devs. This is such a big failure for so many people, I can’t imagine any devs (who you can contact) are not going to be aware of it. Especially, the most popular apps. I think Trakt probably should have made this better known, if it was just going to break the entire service. And now, after doing some research, I know why I was having to relog in, all the time. They changed that to 24hrs. So, any app that doesn’t report to Trakt every single day is not going to work.
Software developers always have to keep up with change.
When Kodi changed to Python 3, all addons had to be reworked.
When Windows is upgraded, not all software is compatible.
Any change to an API can leave the responsibility to fix on the software that uses that API.
Devs are well aware how to code to an API and should be ready to adjust to any changes to that API.
It’s just sad that it’s everything down, now. I don’t even know how watch TV without Trakt. It’s just always been there. But, on the bright side, this could mean more 3rd party, compatible apps in the near future? ![]()
i think you just have too many apps/addons but i also just do everything manually in trakt
I guess either there will be a lot of new apps and updates, or people just won’t be able to use Trakt anymore, and they’ve just shot themselves in the foot. Because it doesn’t work on anything it used to, anymore. That’s a serious problem.
