Short description of the issue
I’m unable to add/edit more than 5 favorite streaming services with the new (v3) favorites selector. The previous version of this interface allowed selecting more than 5 favorite streaming services.
Detailed description with additional context about the workflow
When I go to Trakt Web: Settings and click “Manage”, I already have more than 5 favorite streaming services selected, so I see the error message “You can select up to 5 services”. I can remove services, but can’t add any more.
Same here, I had much more then 5, but missing 1. Removed the old ones, but it says I have selected 5, but I only have 4 selected. Still can not add my missing one
How is going from unlimited favorites to only 5 favorite an improvement?
When I first saw this it made me laugh. “You can only select 5” but then at top “you selected 31/323”. If I can only select 5, then why do I have 31 selected. I guess because V2 had no limit.
I have to say this is absolute insanity to restrict favourites. I specifically use it for all the streamers I’m subscribed to so that when I go on my watchlist I can see what I can watch there and then. I am baffled why this has come about, it already pisses me off that I can’t see stuff on my favourites at a glance like v2.
This is a terrible decision. Another example of being forced to v3, but with reduced functionality. I’ve only just discovered this, as I went to add a favourite to my streaming services. I have 10 selected currently (which seems to have been carried over from v2), but cannot make any changes other than to remove services until I get 4, at which point I could add another - but at the loss of 6 I currently have on my favourites list.
Favourite streaming services is an essential feature imo when using Trakt on a streaming devices, so that you can filter to show only programmes that are available on the services you have access to (‘Filter by Favourite Services…’ on AppleTV - although I think this feature is now broken in v3 !!!.
I, like I’m sure many others, use many different streaming services. I use 12 regularly at the movement, but this changes regularly as a put subscriptions on hold when there’s nothing much I’m interested in, and add others in for a few months.
5 seems a very arbitrary and low limit, when it was unlimited in v2. Changes like this just devalue Trakt in my use case. Why was this introduced? I understand rolling out all v2 features in v3 over time, but it makes no sense as far as I can see to just introduce a numeric limit like this for no apparent reason.
