V3 Missing Essential Features

I am concerned about upcoming removal of V2 since it was discussed that it would happen at the end of the month. There are many features that I use daily and find essential that still aren’t implemented in the website.

  1. Guest star vs season regular (plus count) - how is this not added yet? There is a basically completed branch on GitHub that has been sitting there for weeks that still hasn’t been approved to merge feat(episode): include guest stars in episode credits by kevincador · Pull Request #2567 · trakt/trakt-web · GitHub
  2. Rewatch show - still no real way to rewatch a show. The ‘start watching from here’ button is not a substitute. It doesn’t reset the progress amount or recalculate the remaining episodes to watch.   3. Private notes - these have been enabled on only shows in the watchlist. These need to be added for all shows and individual episodes. In V2 I have tons of existing notes on episodes but with V3 where will they go and how can I view them?
  4. Actors without IMDb links not being shown - this is a distressing issue. See my post here for a longer explanation Remove IMDB and TVDB Requirement for TMDB - #6 by addison0
  5. Hide individual seasons and episodes - it is way more specific than dropping a show altogether. For example if I want to watch only a single season of Survivor I don’t want it sitting in the continue watching section forever displaying the other seasons. Also for existing hidden shows/seasons/episodes there will be no UI to unhide them if V2 site is nonexistent.
  6. Episodes in lists - again I have a ton of lists with individual episodes in them. I can view some of them on V3 and others are bugged. This feature needs to be added back again.
  7. See percent progress watched for show - this has been partially implemented for seasons but still doesn’t exist for the entire show
  8. Season pages - again does not exist. I miss being able to see the season specific descriptions and titles.
  9. Refresh data button - this has been added to the iOS app but still is missing on the website. As someone who frequently updates TMDB this is an essential item.
  10. Allow login with password rather than email code - this has been discussed in many threads as why this is a major inconvenience. I know there’s the workaround for using the /login url but that will probably become defunct overtime.

These are things that need to be addressed before the V2 site is sunsetted. Will we at least be notified before it’s shut down?

Don’t forget the ability to import shows and movies from TMDB.

There’s no need for that anymore since they are now imported way faster on Trakt’s side

How? This was never mentioned by trakt staff.

if the show or movie already has the required IDs in place on TMDB then it automatically imports. If something is missing they want people reporting them here so it can be fixed, usually its missing because there was a duplicate or the content was marked as adult at some point
