I don’t need to be a VIP, but I don’t want ads. No value here for me after 10 or more years as a ‘VIP’ and I’m not alone. Trakt is no longer relevant, and making bad business decisions to try and salvage things. Sad.
I really think there should be lower tiers added. All fun that Trakt decided to add a lot of costly nonsense throughout the years, but I never came to Trakt or became a VIP for any of that crap. All I want is unlimited lists, no ads & advanced filters. You know, the basic stuff. And that stuff ain’t worth a price increase.
I have never used all that fancy stupid crap they added throughout the years, nor will I. Add a different tier of VIP at the new price for the ones who do want all that extra crap, I don’t care. But don’t make me, a basic power user that only uses some of your internal database space and server power for loading pages, pay for it.
Really hate that later of the year I will lose a bunch of my lists and will probably quit using Trakt then. Trakt has been my browser’s homepage for many years, so I’ll need to figure out what to replace it with. But so be it. Been a fun ride.

The only “official” response amounts to “it’s too hard to implement & everyone wants different things and and and…”.
I am sorry but $30 for VIP was my limit as I don’t use the features but just wanted to help you guys out as I love the whole Trakt system.
I’ve been an OG VIP for 12 years and have always gladly supported Trakt. I joined back when the annual cost was $15 and stayed loyal because I believed in the platform, the team, and the direction.
But this sudden jump to $60 per year is honestly frustrating and feels like a breaking point. I completely understand that services evolve, costs rise, and features expand, but quadrupling the price goes way beyond what many long-time supporters can reasonably justify.
As someone who’s been here since the early days, this makes me feel like the loyalty of OG members isn’t being valued. I want to continue supporting Trakt, but at $60/year, I’m seriously considering cancelling my membership entirely.
If the cost were around $30/year, I’d stay without hesitation. It’s a fair middle ground that respects both the platform’s needs and the commitment of users who have supported Trakt from the beginning.
I hope the team will reconsider the structure or at least provide an OG-loyalty tier or renewal option that doesn’t price out the very members who helped keep the service running for so many years.
I genuinely want to stay, but this price increase is pushing me away.
