Heard a lot of chatter regarding the double price increase of VIP.
Alot of chatter about the list limits.
Would you consider 3 tier system with different yearly price point.
Maybe £60, £30 and £15 with more features and less restrictions the higher the VIP level maybe VIP gold, silver and bronze. With things like list sizes on the bronze level and having unlimited lists and size on the gold levels?
Would help people with different levels of needs and increase the chance of signs up for those who can’t afford the gold level.
I think this is a good idea! I just became VIP because Sean helped me out with something and i like the idea of supporting the Trakt team and as a bonus i got some nice extra features. I subscribed with the 50% Reddit discount, because i think €30,- is a reasonable price for what i get, if it had to pay the full €60,- i wouldn’t have subscribed for VIP.
I think €60,- is a pretty big barrier for lots of people to become VIP.
Put the free tier up to 5 lists with 500 items in each list and make watchlist 500 items too, BUT bring back ads, so those that can’t or won’t pay anything still have a reasonable amount of usage and you get some money from the ads. Make the site unusable if an adblocker is used, and you get money from ads from those that won’t/can’t pay.
Introduce a $15/year tier that is ad free, but without any other benefits. Bronze star.
Introduce a $30/year tier that includes the $15/year features and gives say, 30 lists with 10,000 items in each list. Silver star.
Keep the $60/year tier for anyone else that wants to support the site financially and/or wants all the bells and whistles. Gold star.
Keep all legacy/grandfathered plans in place, so nothing changes for those that have supported you for years.
Completely agree with @quietrain with their 3 tier concept. I only want the long lists functionality and none of the other VIP features to be frank. $30 a year is reasonable for just this feature to me.
