Check the details on tvdb. I believe that’s where it comes from.
I did that before reporting, both TMDB ant TVDB.
TVDB says release is May 6th, TMDB says release is May 5th. But even if release is May 5th, it’s at 9 PM ET, so in calendar it should show me May 6th 4 AM according to my EEST timezone, but not May 5th 7 AM as it shows now (like on screenshot).
Understood. If you just changed it, it may take a bit to sync. I’m going to check tvmaze too (think that may be another place for time).
Ok I looked into things. The TVDB and IMDB IDs were set on TMDB, however TVDB is where the time setting is (ET). I took a look and it was set to 12AM without a day set. I changed it to 9PM and Wednesday. That should clear it up once a sync happens (don’t believe an admin needs ti force it).
TVmaze and IMDB show also release date as May 6th. I didn’t change anything, all databases show correct air dates, even though TMDB always shows early release as it actually airs on streaming (Apple TV in this case). Others I assume show global release dates. So it needs to be fixed on Trakt side most likely.
Yeah but actual earliest release is Tuesday May 5th 9:00 PM ET
Apple itself shows it as Wednesday (as do all sites discussing the show that have episode information). Can’t argue with the source. Also, keep in mind that it goes by the country it comes from. NCIS Sydney will show Australia time for release. A german show will have that time. This is a US show so it goes by that time.
Yup, this is correct, Apple shows this air date coz it’s actually drops this episode on streaming at this time, specifically on May 5th 9:00 AM ET, it’s like golden source I assume. So TMDB takes this info as it is, others prefer to show Global release as I understand correctly. Also found this info:
As an Apple TV+ original, it follows the platform’s standard global release window. Most Apple TV+ content drops simultaneously worldwide at 12:00 AM Eastern Time (ET) or 9:00 PM Pacific Time (PT) on the evening prior (Tuesday)
Date and time is coming from TVDB (my understanding). I played with half man on tvdb and that seemed to fix the issue for you.
Thanks for the additional info. I’m going to dig further (don’t have apple tv) and see when it’s actually available. That 9pm PT the day before would make it midnight ET.
Ok, I put it back to midnight. So the issue seems to have been missing the day (Wednesday). It should now show as Wednesday 12AM ET.
Didn’t change yet. I might assume the following case here, not sure though. Maybe this show doesn’t have TVDB id in Trakt? So it takes data from TMDB, and TMDB returns that release date is May 5th, but doesn’t return specific time. As Apple releases globally at 12 AM ET May 6th, but early release for US is 9 PM ET May 5th so TMDB just shows global release time which is 12 AM ET but on May 5th. That’s why we see it on May 5th and it confuses, as actual release way later.
TVDB ID is on TMDB, not Trakt, but I do see the issue. TVDB is correct as Wednesday 12AM is the Apple official release date (Apple TV shows Wednesdays). TMDB, however, is showing the day before and for some reason the field is locked. I put in a report with TMDB about it so it’s wait and see what happens at this point.
Thx, I think they will just say that early Apple TV release is at 9 PM ET May 5th so they will stick to it. But still hope something will change in the end =) Coz if it’s not it might affect lots of other shows this way.
Just saw that discussion on TMDB, well as I said above actually =)) Still question that I’ve asked initially. If they insist that release is today May 5th 9:00 PM ET why am I already seeing this in my Continue Watching and Calendar, it’s not 9:00 PM ET now. My timezone is EEST and according to it episode still must be shown in Calendar on May 6th 4:00 AM. Other shows respect that timezone conversion on Trakt. I just checked TVDB and release there set on Wednesday 12 AM ET. Something is broken in this chain.
Hi,
The issue on Widow’s Bay happened because the airtime of the page was Wednesday 12AM, however, TMDB considers this as airing on the nights of the previous day, so the date and time needed to be manually changed to match how they list this show. I’ve changed the day and airtime of the main page and the episodes should update with that data soon.
