Hey, I’m watching Dexter: Original Sin and the latest episode came out December 27th, but Trakt says the 30th. How do I fix that?
There is nothing to fix. It releases on Sundays (December 29th for E04 which is what Trakt lists) on Showtime. Sundays are the official release date. But it releases earlier on Fridays for those that subscribe to Paramount+.
but same was with squid game it relsesed 26th and trakt said 27th
my guess is this is due to tmdb bible rules. it’s probably available first for streaming on the platform, but tmdb bible rules goes by tv air date. This happens for The Agency too. I’m not fond of that rule tmdb has, but it’s nothing that can be done.
squid game is probably due to it being produced in South Korea and tmdb uses the date released based on original country air date. This is again done in ways “incorrectly” because it comes out same time for everyone around the world, but the way they do their air date, also doesn’t make sense, but it’s again not something that can be debated and argued with tmdb.
Yeah, I’ve argued similar issues and there’s really nothing that can be done. There are some shows on AppleTV+ that have messed up released dates/times because of different locations get different dates/times. Trakt is really at the mercy of TMDB when it comes to some of these issues and there are some mods on here that approve of it so I just kind of ignore it now…
