At first, I thought that there was a problem manually adding movies/episodes I’ve seen. Because they never appeared in my history. I discovered that when I click the check mark, it appears that it actually associates the “seen” movie/episode with the date of release, and NOT the actual seen date, or current date. I understand that this isn’t a high priority, but it would be nice if you can fix this to associate with current date (by default). Thanks…
I’m not sure if this is exactly what I want. Because I always assumed that the “check mark,” was more like a shortcut. I guess what you should me forces me to have a choice first, which may be an extra step. But, I guess this is the best solution. I’m glad I noticed this early, because I would be forced to delete the “seen” movie/episode, in order to correct the date. If I didn’t I would have double entries. OK. I’ll do it your way. It least it will remind me to put the current date.
You can have it always ask you, or have it add with today’s date with a single click. I think you’d choose the 2nd option based on what you initially described. You can always long press to get the ask prompt if you select option 2 or 3.
yeah, that’s what I meant. Assuming that the check mark was a short cut, I didn’t see the purpose of being forced to choose “ask for specific date,” in my settings. But, like I said, it is really a minor issue in comparison. My disenchantment comes from seeing cool movies that are older on streaming, and no one seeing that I recently saw said TV/movie. I’m just glad that I caught it.
The other thing is (speaking for myself), long press is not a common web feature. I’m petty sure I’ll forget many times to do it. This is why my only solution is to set my profile to “ask for specific date.” I don’t remember if this was a default setting and I changed it? I don’t remember. It should be default if it wasn’t originally.
On iOS at least, it is pretty common. Ever long pressed an URL, an image or anything on the internet or mail or whatsapp or anything? It’ll give you a bunch of extra options. It’s basically like right clicking to extend a menu, but that’s not really possible on a phone, haha!
And just on desktop I use long press to easily grab a direct link to an image I wanna share by moving it to a new tab or the URL bar. Too lazy to right-click, haha.
That’s true. But, my brain doesn’t associate that with a PC. It’s totally different. We are conditioned to click on web pages designed for PC. Mobile/tablets are different.
