Just mark as watched

It would be great to mark a show/movie as ‘watched’ without having to specify a date. This would make it easier to backfill historic data for new users without inflating a particular year’s data or marking something as watched the year of release, which could be before you were even born!

This actually could be a really helpful feature, I hate when I’ve watched something and I forgot when I watched it, I know I’ve watched it but do I just choose a random date / time?

This has been mentioned before and the answer is always that Trakt is too dependent on dates for that.

You can for yourself just add them with release date of course. For me I just not add stuff before when I joined. Or with release date when I’ve seen it on TV before I was on trakt. Or just rewatch it and only add that

I add them either on the release date or the year was born.

I just use release date as well. Of course, this means I’ve got watch history for a show that started six years before I was born

I picked a year before I was born and just marked everything I know I’ve watched but have no idea when I’ve watched for that year and whatever day and time it happens to be when I mark it. I thought about doing release date but I’d rather just keep everything that has an “unknown” watch date grouped together in a year I know won’t have any “real” stats.
