Thanks. It may be that the show is pointing to tvdb (mod mentioned on another show) instead of tmdb. I really hate having to create posts here instead of reporting through the site.
V3 is crap. It’s an incomplete product that was pushed to production making them seem very amateur (dealt with agile, scrum, development, etc.). Leadership should never have pushed this out in its current state.
I just checked tmdb and the fields are locked. I reported there but the mods aren’t very receptive.
Following up on this. Why has this not been an issue until this episode. Did the backend data source change?
OK, so the issue on two sides.
On TMDB they split the show once it aired on ABC. All other sites show it as a single show with not split. TMDB will not merge it or do anything to alleviate it.
On the Trakt side, the forced requirement of the TVDB and IMDB IDs is what prevents simply getting the episodes added. Seems Trakt flipped the switch without full understanding or checking with TMDB (or don’t care).
Nothing about flipping anything. Trakt must obey what TMDB does with its metadata bc they import from TMDB. They do not import from tvdb.
But they do have the forced requirement for the TVDB and IMDB IDs. That’s trakt, not TMDB. It worked fine until they did that. Support actually confirmed that.
That’s only used as a validity check to ensure it’s not a dup. Nothing is imported from IMDb or tvdb…
Either way I’m also not a fan of the validity check. but nothing else can be done as trakt just enforces that now.
I fully understand that it’s not imported from those sources, but that check results in missing episodes or shows. Trakt can’t rely on TMDB if TMDB has their own issues. It’s the blind leading the blind.
I created this post hoping they remove it (just started at the time of this episode so it’s new).
