Rules are fine but it seems like they always very rigid with applying them and try to fit a square peg in a round hole. The mods seem to not be capable or allowed to think rationally and make exceptions to the rules when appropriate. I digress…
If you agree that this is messed up and have a TMDB account, please chime in on the thread I linked. They probably won’t change their mind but more voices panning their decision can’t hurt.
Hi, thanks for the heads up.
I’ve moved the episodes on our end for now to match their changes, just so we don’t end up with duplicates, or with data in the wrong episodes. I’ll discuss with the developers what we can do about this on Monday.
From what I see on TMDb, yet again the mods won’t step back. It’s interesting how it’s always that one mod who is more stubborn, from what I have caught so far. It’s a matter of Trakt following TMDb changes from now on, or being able to adjust the database on its end, making sure they can get future updates from TMDb properly linked to the actual season and episode numbers.
@Sonply, not sure if it’s only on my side, but I think season comments and ratings still need to be moved too.
Yeah, we don’t currently have tools to move those, so I’ll need to check with the developers what we can do. I’ve just moved the episodes to match their new listing.
Unfortunately TMDB Mods are not the brightest people around when we talk about taking rational decisions. This complete mess with “Black Mirror” is the prove that sometimes even the best rules need an exception.
Thank you very much @Sonply! Your intervention is very appreciated.
I also noticed that even if all single episodes are correctly marked as watched, now seasons are not complete anymore (causing some “holes” in the progress as well). Thanks for having a look at that aspect too with developers if you can.
@Uli666, not sure if this will work, but try going here: https://trakt.tv/settings/advanced and hit “Reset Progress Data”. Might solve that issue. Just wait a bit after doing that action for the website to update.
Thank you very much for your suggestion. I was about to try it, when I noticed that everything was already fixed by itself. So it was probably just a cache issue.
Now let’s hope devs can find a way to also fix the seasons mess caused by TMDB.
Just in case you’d like to give them some more evidence, look what I found in another thread: a mod saying that Channel 4 website - which they insist using as the sole source of truth - was WRONG.
