Recently, my iOS calendar has started becoming empty on some days and only showing some episodes on others. On the desktop it shows all my tv shows normally, unless I toggle to the ‘lite’ feature on the top left corner and the website goes minimalistic and the calendar matches the iOS with the missing information. If I could figure out to switch the iOS app from the lite mode I think this would fix the initial issue, but why is it doing it in the first place is the issue. Appreciate any help anyone can give on this.
The ability to even get to the calendar seems to have disappeared from my iPad app.
Screenshots might help here (especially @CajunRob, though also that probably deserves its own thread)
First one from web page with lite turned off, second one from web page with lite turned on, the app shows what lite shows and theres no toggle for the app to switch back, only way to switch back on web is to literally click back on the web, no toggle.
I think I can see the issue. I had a quick look and it seems like a bunch of those items aren’t in your watchlist. Instead, they are in your library (eg. ‘Beyond the Gates’), which is not automatically included in the calendar on Lite (and now the apps). If these items are things you want to see in your calendar, the current solution is to add them to your watchlist.
I tried that and it worked, but funnily enough the ones that are showing arent on my watchlist, but they are on a list that I created that all the others are on as well, so its still a little weird wouldn’t you say?
Can you please try refresh your cache by using ‘Reset Progress Data’ from https://trakt.tv/settings/advanced and see if that changes anything? You might have to force quit the app and/or refresh the webpage depending. Otherwise let me know a specific item you’re referring to and I’ll see if I can clarify the issue.
I tried that yesterday, both that and the reset data one, and it was still the same result.
The Doc show and The Morning Show both aren’t on my watchlist but they are in the same list as the rest of my shows in my personal list, which is also set to private.
Oh I misread - I thought you said the items on a personal list were showing up but instead you meant these items that are not showing are only on a separate personal list and not your watchlist? I don’t think items that were only on a personal list but nothing else would show up on your calendar.
The expected calendar behaviour for Lite and apps at the moment for items included is:
- watched/history (this is probably how doc and morning show are there)
- excluding dropped (not to be confused with hidden progress)
- watchlisted
Any other (library, alternate personal lists, etc) shouldn’t show up there, and hidden calendar items won’t affect it - this is to be replaced with dropping which can be done from the show page on iOS or the progress sections.
Ah ok, I suppose that makes sense, so if I want it to show n my app it has to be either in my watch history or on my watchlist.
Can you also let me know why the toggle to switch back from lite is missing on both the app and the web page?
After you toggle to lite the only way to switch back is to use the back button on the web, and the app is only lite now it seems.
yep!
Regarding the toggle, I believe the toggle is essentially a one way thing now. If you’re missing specific features on Lite or apps I’d suggest submitting feature requests with some detailed use cases of what’s missing. There may be some things in the pipeline already, and others may be future plans, etc.
