👋 Coming from TV Time? We’re here to help!

TV Time is shutting down after July 15, 2026, and we know many people are suddenly looking for a new place to keep their watch history and continue tracking what they watch.

We’ve built the Trakt importer to help make that kind of move easier. We also recently improved the importer to support the TV Time GDPR export .zip directly, so you can download your data from TV Time and bring your supported tracking data into Trakt.

The full step-by-step guide is available here:

If you want to keep your TV Time data, the most important thing is to request and download your TV Time export before July 15.

The importer is designed to move supported tracking data into Trakt, including watch history, watchlist, and ratings when available. Some data, especially comments, reactions, social activity, and app-specific metadata, won’t be imported, but you don’t have to start from scratch either.

Trakt won’t feel exactly like TV Time. It has its own approach to tracking, lists, stats, discovery, apps, and integrations, but the Trakt community is strong and growing. Don’t hesitate to ask for help on the forums or Reddit for tips and tricks, or for help finding the best app to use with Trakt.

Core tracking on Trakt is free. VIP adds extra features, higher limits, and more advanced tools, but you don’t need VIP just to start tracking.

We’ll keep improving the importer as we learn from more exports. If something looks missing or incorrect after importing, please reach out with examples so we can take a look.

Welcome to Trakt, enjoy your stay!

I imported my tv shows and movies and for the most part they’ve transferred well, but for some reason so many shows are leaving the last season (or more) as watched and then when I go to mark them as unwatched it sayin that the episode hasn’t even been released yet. These are shows and episodes that have been out for years. Is this not fully up to date or doesn’t get updated frequently? If I’m going to pay for something id like it to have the basic info of release dates at least after it’s been released

Can you please share one or more shows with us where you’ve seen this behavior?
We’ll look into it.
Thanks!

Another issue may be metadata/episode count related:
Lost season 4 appears as 14 episodes on TV Time, but only 13 on Trakt. From external episode lists, 14 seems to be correct.

I noticed similar episode count / metadata mismatches with some other shows as well, but I did not write all of them down yet. This may explain some of the missing episodes, because if Trakt has a different episode structure than TV Time, the importer cannot map those episodes correctly.

Also, rewatches / multiple plays seem to be missing completely from the TV Time import. My Trakt account currently only has almost the same number of plays as unique episodes, even though my TV Time export contains hundreds of rewatch events.
