Deleting part watched episodes

How do I stop Trekt deleting part-watched episodes

are you using an addon or third party app to scrobble your show watching? It could be the addon or app is deleting the episodes from your watch history. By default trakt doesn’t delete episodes unless data from TMDB is updated and episodes are merged

Hi Jason, thanks for your reply. I’m using an addon but using Trakt through the addon. I’ll keep looking through the settings to see if I can stop them from being removed.

What do you mean by part-watched episodes? Might I ask exactly how are you marking them?
We don’t store part-watched data, so you either mark the episode as fully watched or you don’t mark it at all.

Well what I mean by a part- watched episode, is that I have watched part of the episode with the expectation of watching the remaining part at a later date.
But Trakt removes the whole episode before I have time to watch the remaining part, so I miss out on the ending to the episode.
Annoying!

I’m confused. Trakt only tracks what you’re viewing or have viewed. It isn’t streaming anything to you or for you and can’t touch anything you’re watching. And definitely can’t delete anything.

My limited knowledge of these things would suggest that the app (not Trakt) you are watching it on is marking it as watched, even though you have only watched part of it.
I use Emby and it marks a part watched episode/film as “resume watching”.
It only marks as “played” once it hits a certain percentage of the length of the episode/film.

Thanks changnoi, that sounds like it could be the answer, I’ll look into that.
