Is there a way to delete an entire days worth of watch history as mistakes can happening while syncing media servers and other connected apps? Pain deleting 774 plays in one day can be a very long process.
I haven’t tested, and support may have a better way, but maybe run a backup of your data, manually edit that file and then restore that backup???
I never thought about doing it this way, I’ll give this a look, see if it’s possible. Thank you.
Edit: I just reread, and you wanted to delete just a days worth… I’m not sure that’s currently, easily, possible.
Original response:
There’s a way to delete ALL history at the bottom of Advanced Settings. Note it can’t be undone.
If it was synced from one of the scrobbling services like Disney+, theres a way to review the sync from it here: Sign in to Trakt - Trakt. I don’t use the scrobblers so I don’t know for sure if you can undo specific syncs or if it was just the initial sync. If you’re looking to undo something from something like plex or the other media centers then I don’t think thats possible. You can put in a support ticket for help, I had the opposite happen where I lost a bunch of plays when syncing with another app and they were able to restore it
No, I run my own media servers and configured it wrong and manually selected the playback on a couple of series that marked them all as watched in an entire day at the same time stamp.
I just manually went through the entire day deleting each episode at a time.
Sounds like you did what I would have suggested.
At first I was like…how the heck did you watch 774 shows/episodes in one single day!!!
I was going to tell you to simply go to your History page, use the proper sorting and filtering and any other option you can select at the top to manually delete them.
This is one reason why I don’t use any outside (third party) apps. I actually enjoy opening the website (either on my desktop/laptop/tablet/phone) and manually marking things watched as I am actually watching. I have heard so many horror stories about data and third party apps.
I was going to suggest undoing the sync.
If there are a few episodes you want to keep, just open them in a new tab first. Then mark them as watched after the sync is undone.
If you have Trakt set to disable multiple plays in the settings, then you just need to select the latest/new watch date. No deleting needed… Usually.
