Does Trakt occasionally update a "Movie" into a "Show"?

Hello,
This is very uncommon, but I’ve found that once in a long while Trakt updates a “Movie” into a “Show” and removes the “watched” and “rating”.
For example, I had Salem’s Lot (1979) watched & rated as a Movie in Trakt. But it seems it was recently updated to a “Show”.
Is this something that happens automatically as part of an update? Wondering if there is a way to see if any movies were updated to shows recently. No big deal, just curious.

Usually when something like that happens it means that it was added incorrectly to start with on TMDB/TVDB and was then added to Trakt. Eventually it is fixed on those services and it can then be fixed on Trakt.

In this case it would probably be that the show was also added as a movie and the duplicate was merged into the show(plays get transferred when that happens).

Yes exactly. TMDB didn’t start with tv shows, so mini series were added as a single movie entry. Once they had tv shows, the movies were deleted and instead added as tv shows with multiple episodes. When we merge, all data is moved over.

The movie plays and collection status are copied into each episode of the tv shows. The other info like ratings, recommended, and lists are moved over to the tv show entry.

If you’re not seeing this, it is actually a caching issue. Once you watch a new item, it should re-cache and visually look correct.

May I ask why conversion of movie into a show would end up on “Up next to watch” list? It’s not on my Watchlist and never was, but it’s in my collection. How do I properly remove it from “Up next to watch”, so that if I add it later to my watchlist, it would still appear there? Talking about Salem’s Lot here too

You might have the “include collected” setting on for the watched progress.

That was it. But strangely it’s the firs time it happened  I have a lot of collected still not watched items, but none appeared in the progress

Thanks
