What changed data from TMDB is not automatically synced?

So I understand that the removal of items on TMDB is not automatically synced to Trakt. Also if backdrops or posters are removed from TMDB and they were the only ones (so there are’nt any left on TMDB), this change is not reflected on Trakt, it keeps on using the latest media.

But is there any other data this also applies to? Episode order? Name of an item? Episode backdrops? Anything?

Any/every removal of metadata from TMDB won’t be automatically removed from trakt. It would need to be reported to trakt support have it manually removed or changed.

I think episode data like the overview and titles actually do get removed. As in they get updated. To blank. If the whole episode gets removed it won’t get removed though.

No it doesn’t. It would just be stuck at where it last got synced before the episode(s) got deleted from TMDB. I know bc it’s annoying that I didn’t get to blank out the episode title and get it synced before TMDB removes it. But reporting it to trakt will get it removed manually anyways.

No I mean if someone vandalizes data because blanking out episode data on tmdb. It will also get blanked out on trakt.

I know deleted episodes dont get deleted. That’s what I mentioned hahaha.

Oh right but that’s just updates. I think OP was talking about when metadata is deleted from TMDB right?

If TMDB changed the episode order, then our data will just update to match the new order and it might create duplicates. For example, a show has a season 2 with a continuos order, so some user goes to TMDB and moves episodes 1-10 from season 2 to be episodes 11-20 of season 2(This shouldn’t be done as it is against their rules). On our end we will still have episodes 1-10, and the system will create episodes 11-20, so they will be duplicated. When those shows get reported I go to TMDB and fix their ordering (should be 1-10) and them I merge the duplicated episodes on Trakt’s end. Unfortunelly there really isn’t a way for us to move the episodes when TMDB moves them. The same happens when an episode is moved to the specials season.

Titles usually update, the only reason they might not is if the title of a movie or show with a lot of plays change. Those cases need to be changed by a moderator.

Episode backdrops also change when refreshing the page, however, if they were removed from TMDB and there isn’t another one, only a moderator can remove them. Keep in mind that it can take up to 24 hours after editing TMDB for updates to show up when refreshing.
