Ok, I’m gonna rant.
The new mandatory fields Format + resolution is BAD, and here’s why:
I usually add shows via Plex scrobble, this does NOT send format resolution, etc fields. I normally set those at the end of the season, when the show is completed.
Now, i can’t do that in one click on the season page, because it wants me to set the collected date at the same time which actually as I’ve already collected the episode, changes the collected date
Oh and there’s more, I tried it on “Young Sherlock” today, I had added the episodes, one by one, via Plex, went to set format/res/audio on the season page, as I do normally, saw the new format/res thingy, and went "‘oh well no big deal I collected all episodes today, I’ll just set the date too..” but no, when i tried that i got the “No episodes aired” error.
I can however set the format/res/audio individually on the library page, so there’s that excepted it takes forever compared to setting it for the season or show all at once.
– Edit:
Oh and also I just noticed the ‘Add Remaining’ is gone from the season/Show Page, so more annoyance there.
– End Edit
So this has been half thought, badly implemented (“no aired episode” error) and for post collected editing, is a nightmare.
So what can Trakt do ?
- bring back the separate editing of collected date and metadata. (like it’s currently implemented on the library page) for seasons/shows
- or add a “don’t change date” button in the date fields
- Bring back the ‘Add Remaining’ function.
