Adding format to whole season - not working?

Is it normal for people to not be able to add a format to a whole season of a TV series, or am I doing something wrong? I can add a format to individual episodes, but not to a whole season at once. As an example, I’ve added scrubs season 1 to my collection, and tried to add a format as so:

But when I click “Add Metadata” it just pops up with this error:
(It says “Doh! No aired episodes were found to collect.” in red, the forum won’t let me post a second image as I’m a new poster)

How can I fix this, other than manually going through episode by episode to add the format?

That should work. Keep in mind, it will overwrite all metadata for the episodes in that season. So in this case, I think it will set the format then blank out the rest of the metadata.

Please try resetting the browser data at https://trakt.tv/settings/data and see if it works after doing that.

Yeah I assumed it would do that. Currently none of them have a format as I’ve only just added them.

I reset my data and tried it again, and that stll gave the same error. I also tried doing it on firefox which I’ve not used for this site before and the same error was given.

It seems to be posting the following to /seasons/14243/collect but getting a 400 back if it helps:

type: season
trakt_id: 14243
watched_at: false
collected_at: false
force: false
update_metadata: true
media_type: dvd

I am having the same issue with any show when I try to add metadata. It does not add the metadata and I only get the error “Doh! No aired episodes were found to collect” when I try to add it after it is collected. I tried Microsoft Edge and Firefox(Both up to date).

Edit: I also reset data.

I’m still getting the same issue. @justin Is there any chance this can be looked at? It’s not really feasible to have to go through mutliple seasons of a series adding format metadata episode by episode. It seems like it’s fine adding it to an episode and it works if you add it to an entire series but not if you just want to add it to a season.

It was a tough bug to track down, but I think I found a fix. The fix will go out later this week.

Excellent, thanks. Let me know when it’s out and I’ll test it as I’ve got a few seasons to add.

I’m not sure if it’s related but if you try to add a whole season to your history (as in watched) it gives the same error message.

I don’t think that would be related since collection and watched history are separate functions. Forgot to post the season collection metadata fix is now live.

I just tested it and it is working for me! Thanks!

Question though would it be possible to show the metadata if all of the episodes are the same for a season? I just noticed that it does not do that.

Maybe, I’ll have to see if that’s possible. We should have the data available in browser, but I’ll take a deeper look.

Yep, it’s working for me too. Thanks!

I just tested this as well and it does the same for me and also upon unwatch. But it actually does mark it as watched and you see that it is marked if you delete offline website data in Firefox.

Using the Sign in to Trakt - Trakt does not seem to do anything to get it to show it correctly.

Update: Nothing seems to update the up next red progress bar on the dashboard, specifically when you want to unwatch. Progress page works fine though.
