Is there a way to gift a year of VIP status to someone? If not, I think this would be a great feature that could help grow the user base even more.

I think a system like Reddit Gold would be nice, where for a few bucks you could give a user a one-off VIP subscription for 30 days (with options for longer) with a little message attached (or just anonymously). Sometimes I’ll come across a lengthy and well-written review that so perfectly captures how I feel about a movie–especially if my opinion was different from the majority’s–that I wish I could give it more than just a thumbs up.
What Trakt gets out of this is that it’s possible some percentage of these gifts will result in conversions to paying subscriptions by the recipient if they realize how useful some of the feature they’ve been missing are.

I would also love to see implementation of Affiliate system (or reward system). I have a few social media pages, where I would love to advertise this page, and it would be great to have ,something from it", at least VIP bonus for another months or credits. Something.
I think the affiliate systems are stupid and with no exception lead to abuse and not to mention spamming on other websites/community.
I’m all for promoting Trakt but don’t give any rewards for it please thanks.
