Is there a way to have movies from your watchlist show on your calendar when they are available on a subscribed streaming service rather than when released at the theater or available on DVD & Blu-Ray?
For example, the movie “The Contractor” was released on April 1, hit my DVD & Blu-Ray (which I do not watch) calendar on June 7, and is only now available on Showtime.
If this feature is not available, could we add it? And maybe an option for when a movie from your watchlist is available to rent online too?
That’s cool. Thank you. Is that like having an option like the DVD & Blu-Ray option but for streaming?
On mobile, I would like to click on Upcoming Schedule and see under ‘My TV Shows & My Movies’ the dates movies are available for streaming on subscription services (not rental) whether I’m subscribed or not. Right now, the movies show up on the schedule with their theater release dates.
Maybe we could choose in the settings whether we want to use the theater release date, DVD release date, steaming rental release date, or streaming subscription release date.
Or adding an option similar to the DVD & Blu-Ray option in the drop-down for streaming subscription services would be good.
That would be too generic to just use the earliest date. A lot of time with movies, it shows up for preorder way ahead of actual being available to download or stream. I still think using your specific services is the best way to approach this and make the data useful.
What is happening now is the Upcoming Schedule, ‘My TV Shows & My Movies’ uses the theater release date for movies.
In my example, the movie “The Contractor” appeared on April 1 on the Upcoming Schedule under ‘My TV Shows & My Movies.’
When I chose the Upcoming Schedule, ‘DVD & Blu-ray,’ option “The Contractor” appeared on June 7, the DVD release date.
I want to go to my Upcoming Schedule and see when “The Contractor” will air on Showtime, just like I can for a TV Show on Showtime without having to go to a separate screen and search with a filter. Ideally, this would happen under the Upcoming Schedule, ‘My TV Shows & My Movies.’ But if it had to happen similarly to how the ‘DVD & Blu-ray,’ option works, that would be ok too.
Streaming links are added once available, we don’t have them ahead of time like the original release date or dvd release date. What you’re asking for makes sense, but we don’t have the dates to show what is streaming in the future.
Yep, I am not asking you to post them before you have the dates; have an option, so the movies show on the schedule when you get a streaming date, whenever that may be.
I do not go to the theater anymore with the pandemic, and I do not have DVD or Blu-ray, but I have streaming services. It would be lovely to have movies appear on the schedule alongside the TV shows as they become available on the streaming services when the dates become available.
Appreciate the consideration. I am looking forward to seeing all the great things ahead.
I came here to make this same suggestion. I’d like to know when something becomes available to stream on one of my services rather than general release.
Not getting a notification when the movies I want to see become available on my streaming channels or having a feature similar to ‘Up Next’ for TV shows keeps me from deleting Trakt’s competitor’s apps.
That could work thanks for the tip. I can send them to Feedly if I set up a special email address.
It would be nice to get notifications in app or able to work them into the Watch Next feature. The good news is you are already tracking the information and know when they hit streaming.
