I’ve been thinking about this for a while. Currently only items in your watchlist and collection can show up in the Upcoming Calendar.
The way I use Watchlist (preferably) is only have shows/movies that have already been released which movies that hasn’t been released is added into Collection. Once the movie is released, I move it from Collection to Watchlist. I can’t do that with shows unfortunately. I can’t add shows that hasn’t been released to Collection.
My feature request is the ability to allow the user to select certain custom lists so that the items in that list(s) can show up in the Upcoming Calendar. Is this doable? It could be lists that the user liked or lists that the user created.
Lists can be used to create customer calendars that show up on the sidebar of the calendar section. Click the “subscribe” button when viewing any calendar.
@justin - I just tested this but is there a way it will show up by default as part of my “shows and movies”? Similar to how I see watchlist items show up on upcoming calendar on the website and app?
Awwww. Is there anyway to add that as a new feature? Ability to have these list be included in upcoming calendar in the future? It would be a nice feature to have I usually want to keep my watchlist clean of only shows and movies that have already been released but some way still have the ability of seeing it visually when it will be released.
I was going to ask what your use case was, but as you mentioned keeping your watchlist “clean”, could you try hiding unreleased items on your watchlist instead? At least on iOS I know it saves that filter across sessions, and means you’re not having to move items between lists when they release, etc.
That workaround would work fine if I am navigating through the app or website but it won’t work well if I’m using a third party player app. This is why having unreleased movies/shows segregated from watchlist helps keep it “clean”. I have no choice but to use watchlist or collection (I know that’s not what it’s supposed to be used for) because those two are the only lists that will show up in the upcoming calendar.
it’s almost like you need a “hide until release date” or “hide until a day before release date” option, which automatically puts it back in your visible watchlist when that time comes.
