I created an account on the web app and would like to use the password to log in but am prompted to send a link to my email to. If I have to start over I can delete my account but all the forum responses regarding deleting an account are outdated.
The website URL is https://app.trakt.tv/ so it may be a newer version. My password manager also used a username without the email address so I had to fix that.
What are my options besides deleting the account, if possible?
you can still login using https://trakt.tv/signin for now but that feature will be removed at some point so the only option will be the email link. if you’re wanting to just delete your account you can do so once logged in by going to the advanced tab of settings

Like the user above said, you should still be able to login with username and password using that link. If you still can’t login in your account, just send a message to @support and we can help you.
