In addition to this, time remaining for shows appear to be rounded and not precise like they are on v2, and there’s no total time remaining at the top of the progress page like there is on v2, which is a huge problem for me as I use that every single day to determine how much I want to make sure to watch each day to keep up. There’s also no breakdown by season like there is for v2 which is also helpful in some situations.
I’m pretty sure that v3 uses the runtime that is set at the show level and multiplies it with the number of remaining episodes whereas v2 sums up the actual runtime of the remaining episodes.
No, that doesn’t work either. Look in my screenshot. It shows Always Sunny as being a 22 minute show, with 69 episodes left. 22 x 69 = 1518 / 60 = 25.3 hours, which would be closer to the v2 version but still not exact
There you go. Still, not great, and should be changed. The series wide runtime can be quite different from the remaining episodes average runtime in some cases. Some shows get longer over time, some get shorter, some have specific seasons with longer episodes, etc. It doesn’t make a lot of sense to use the series wide runtime for this calculation.
I’m glad someone else recognized this issue too! I knew I wasn’t crazy when looking at the remaining runtime of a season and then actually finished watching it way faster hopefully they fix this to use the accurate times.
