I updated the app to version 2.3 recently and now it doesn’t start anymore.
I tried rebooting my phone, which didn’t work.
Then I reinstalled the app. It first worked but after I attempted to sign into my account it crashed again.
Reopening the app is not possible, immediately crashes like before reinstalling.
iPhone 7 (MN922ZD/A),
iOS 15.8.3 (19H386)
Same here on iPhone 7+.
Same issue for me on iPhone SE 1st Gen iOS 15.8.3
Did same steps as NBA20 with same results on iPhone 7+, iOS 15.8.3. Issue started with Trakt update 2 days ago.
Same here on my iPad
You people do know that the iPhone is now up to version 16 right? Don’t you think supporting phones as old as iPhone 7+ is bad practice?
@terryapodaca If you have nothing to contribute and don’t know anything, please don’t comment.
The latest iOS version is actually 18.x
But the iPhone 7 doesn’t get it because it’s too old. And why would that matter?
“Compatibility
iPhone
Requires iOS 15 or later.”
Which my phone does have.
Hahaha…
I wasn’t talking about the iOS version. I am talking about the iPhone (generation or version, which ever you want to call it) is at 16, as in the iPhone 16. Y’all are asking for support for a phone that is 9+ versions old/behind.
Heck, I don’t even think Apple supports iPhone 7 (or even 8 for that matter).
I think the Trakt team should have a dedicated page for the different versions of hardware/software that they support.
My point is this, not only is it a security risk to you, but can also be a security risk for companies to support such old devices, on top of other countless issues that arise, so don’t tell me I “don’t know anything”.
The iPhone 7 is not yet on Apple’s vintage/obsolete lists (even though some newer phones are):
So Apple still seems to support it.
Indeed, the latest iOS release for the iPhone 7 is from July 29 of this year:
The iPhone 7 will be officially supported till September 12, 2022, which is when iOS 16 gets released. After the iOS 16 release takes place, Apple may stop signing iOS 15.6.1 within a month of the release. Unless the company sends additional security updates for iPhone 7, iOS 15.6.1 could be the end of support for this model.
It’s considered obsolete.
Support ended 9/16/2024
Who cares about if it’s considered obsolete or not?
Can yall stop yapping about irrelevant stuff?
Fact is: Trakt says that any iPhone with iOS 15 and later is supported.
And the oldest device with iOS 15 is the iPhone 6s / SE1.
So it should work with that device.
If Trakt didn’t want to support those devices, they would have set the minimum iOS version to 16.
Update 2:
The fix is now available in the App Store. Please update to version 2.3.1
Update:
I’ve submitted the build for App Store review so it should be available within 24 hours (as suggested by Apple).

Thanks for reporting the issue. I’m in the process of investigating and fixing this now. It appears to be an iOS 15 specific issue and I’ll have a fix and then will submit to the App Store asap.
Working great now! Thanks so much!
The app is working now. Thank you.
Is there a way I can close this post now?
