Missing features in V3

Personally I miss some features that were essential for me in the V2 of trakt. Here are the ones listed for me and I hope that the devs are taking a look at it:

Total watchtime

  • The overall watchtime on the profile is an essential feature and I think that is what trakt is made for.

Actors / Guest Stars

  • Actors of films and series should be sorted by main cast and guest stars again
  • The number of episodes in which an actor has appeared should be displayed on the series tab
  • on an actors profile should appear in how many episodes he appeared, not how many episodes the series had

Watchlist / Lists

  • See how many movies/series are in a list
  • The ability to see at a glance whether films/series are included in lists, not only watchlist

Contine Watching

  • Sorting function in Contine Watching
  • Iā€™m missing the percent information in Contine Watching
  • that you can see not only the missing episodes and watch time, but also the number of episodes and watchtime youā€™ve already watched
  • The progress bar shows the exact seasons you have already watched (e.g. if you havenā€™t watched the first season, but the following ones, it shows this in the progress bar

Details

  • Show us STATS! How many watchers and plays an movie / series / episode has.

I think that are all the features I recognize right now missing in V3, that were in V2.

There is one feature I would like to add.

Calendar

  • upcoming movies from film collections (e.g. if a new part of a already watched film releases it should show in the calendar as well. I think right now you need to add them on your watchlist first.)

I just remembered 3 more things I am missing:

  • Seasons Tab
  • Most watched movies / series in profile
  • The time spent watching each day in the history tab

I really really really want the guest actors for each episode back. I used that so often to find an actor name and to ultimately discover other shows and/or movies that Iā€™d be interested in watching. Iā€™d like to know who decides to remove these extremely useful features. Itā€™s mind boggling to me.

the guest actors feature is available in the iOS version at least, they just donā€™t separate them from the main actors. on v3 web they show the guest actors only on the series page not on each episode unfortunately

I thought the mess that is V3 was supposed to be about unifying the platforms, making it easier for Trakt to add features. And yet here we are, pushed the beta as is with incomplete features like this. Missing on Android, mixed on iOS and only on the series page on desktop.

Is V3 just entirely vibe coded now?

Iā€™m also missing the actor breakdown. I know who the main actors are for a show Iā€™m watching. Iā€™m interested in the guest actors for an episode most of the time and what I know them from. That was a common journey for me on the app after (or sometimes during) and episode.

Now I have to leave the app and go to another website to get the information which Iā€™m sure isnā€™t the intent of the product team!

The simplification of the UI has trimmed made information gathering a lot more difficult.

I also liked having an easy way to view the seasons and episodes of a show but now just have the side scrolling list and tougher navigation.

im sure android will get it soon since iOS has it. v3 web only has it on the series page not per episode so im sure thats another minor oversight as well.

it groups all the actors together instead of splitting them like it did in v2 between regulars and guest stars

Also upvoted. I check guest actors quite often if I recognize them. It would be a shame if I have to open a different service to find where I know them from.

Monthly calendar view is the only feature that I was using, yet it seems to be missing in this awful v3. Heartbroken to see something so half-baked is being forced onto users.

  1. Does anyone knows how to jump to tmdb/tvdb from a show/movie/episode? It was there in v2
  2. How do I mark the whole show or episode as watched during released date or a selected datetime? I dun want to mark it as watched today.
  3. Where are all the time features? Eg when I track a show, at the history page, what time a show release, etc

Here are some more missing things:

  • Sorting lists by last watch timed
  • Show the last watched time on an episode
  • Show individual watch history for shows, sessions and episodes
  • Adding episodes to the watchlist, even if you add them through the API they do not show up in on the web page
  • Switching to a next and previous episode without scrolling through the whole horrizontal episode list

A missing feature I had been using in V2 thatā€™s now missing:

  • TMDB Episode Groups (aka alternate order)

I had been using this to watch X-Men: The Animated Series in production order, and now there is no option for it, the old url redirects to the main page in the default order. I do not see a way to do this in V3.

so missing itemsā€¦.how about the calendar view? It went from being able to view entire month in simple ways to weekly small icons, I miss the old calendar view and would want that back tyvm
