itâs a lot of things put into the zip file. the contents are all .json files. my zip had 54 files for notes, watched history for movies, watched history for tv shows, personal lists, etc
JSON Export are basically useless to me. I donât know why they are changing the export format from the CSV Export they were using before.
- Exporting directly to an Excel Sheet makes more sense to me and makes the information easier to read/use.
I have tried multiple times to use the JSON files, but I just cannot figure them out. 
If you have MS Excel, itâs fairly simple to convert a json to csv

I have tried several ways I have found online, but it just does not want to convert correctly and or just gives an error message. 
I am not that tech savvy⌠so JSON is pretty much useless to me. I really rather have the easier CSV export that V2 always had.

IDK if this has been said, but a few things, I am using firefox and cannot go back to the old version there for some strange reason. When I go to any list, I do not see any info for that list, just like basics, for example, I would like to easily see how many items are in that lists. It would be nice to see for example, if I pull âEmmy Winnersâ lists to see the search results for lists and see how many items those lists have, immediately, in the search result, you canât even see how may items are in the lists even when you click inside the lists.
Also, editing your own lists. what a mess. I used to edit lists from my phone app all the time by dragging and dropping where I want the movies/shows, Iâm talking about the order. I canât reorder the items on the app at all. I have to open the browser and do it through that. and in firefox on PC, the âRe-orderâ option should allow you to delete items from the lists as well, I mean you are actively re-ordering and you might want to delete or remove an item, why made us get out and remove individually then go back to the re-order. doesnât make sense.
Please allows us to reorder in the phone apps and allow us to see the number of items in the list, and just basic info on lists/movies/shows. I use the feature where you can see when the movies were released around the world and when where they released on digital, movie theaters, download, etc., donât see it in the new layout either.
I understand changing the visuals, but you are taken away core functionalities that I was happily paying for, if I canât see or use the things that I was paying for, then this is a useless app that doesnât deserve my renewal.

ChatGPT can convert a json file to csv. (Havenât tried it myself though)
its not as clean but your library does show you what episodes you do own.
I have all the episodes for firefly, for example. I donât like this view either, Iâm just pointing it out.
they want to make the library actionable so you can click on a movie from your media center or Trakt TV app and it will take you to the service that has it and play it

I guess I continue trying, but most likely Trakt will no longer have ANYTHING for me without an easily accessible CSV export. Most of the data I go looking for on the Trakt site is to update the information I exported to excel.
Trakting what I watch is great and all, but if I cannot easily use the data captured then the information is basically useless.

Try out the Showly App after connecting it to your Trakt account. One of the reasons I liked it was because changes to the list in the Showly App were later seen in my Trakt account.
See if it meets your needs⌠and if you do not like an app, always try another until your find something that works for you.

List Sorting & Translation Issues

Please add the (Watchlist - Collection - Lists) icons back on the bottom of the posters. Its a nightmare making sure a movies is listed at a glance. Now in V3, You have to manually click the 3 dots on every movie poster, Then manage lists⌠Just to see if its listed or not. Please bring this feature back from V2⌠PLEASE!!!

This right here. Seconded. PLEASE add this back. I maintain quite a few lists and itâs nice to know if Iâve already added a movie or not rather than having to check manually for every movie Iâm not sure about.

Let me start by saying I do like the look of Lite version. Itâs modern and sleek, but thatâs about all it is. Functionally I miss a lot of things from old interface. To sum up I miss how UPFRONT WITH INFORMATION old interface was.
Dashboard Statistics
Instantly on dashboard, I could see how many shows, movies, episodes I have seen with total play counts for them. That tickled some part of my brain making me feel better. Now to do that I need to go to profile where I only see vague shortened numbers, so to actually see that information I need at least 2 clicks to get to all time stats. Which is another thing missing from dashboard: links to month, year and all time reviews. I get the clean design approach, but maybe give option to customize what WE USERS want to see? After all site is for US.
Calendar
I didnât have to go to calendar page to see whatâs coming for almost entire week. I could just look at calendar portion of the dashboard and it was clear what shows/movies are coming for next 5 days. Now I sometimes donât even see a full day ahead (I watch a lot of stuff and sometimes more than 5 things come out on single day.)
Viewing habits.
I like inclusion of long term watch streak as it strokes my ego and makes me want to watch something every day, but I also didnât have to click anything to see my viewing habits for last month. All I had to do is scroll to habits section and I could see how many hours each day for last 30 days I watched something, lapses, peaks. If I wanted to, I could even enable genre view of watched content. Now I in order to see daily view counts I have to press on streak, which is FRICTION to only see current month (not last 30 days) viewing counts. Would like more here or at least options ot include more viewing habits.
Watchlist
I treat watchlist as a list for things I havenât seen and for things I want to re-watch again at some point, so I very much liked my watchlist to be sorted by âwatched dateâ which sorted unwatched content at the front while then showing everything I watched and want to rewatch in a chronological order based on last time I watch it. In long term it could allow for easy rotation of what I watch bringing to front movies/shows I havenât seen in a some time while at the same time keeping things that I watched recently at the end of the line. New interface eliminated that sorting option entirely and left boring options available everywhere else.
Fade filter
In any given list I miss having option to simply fade some items, because sometimes I want to see everything, but have clear indication of what is different than the rest.
Actor history
If i wanted to check specific actors history I could easily see entire list of both movies and shows they were in as well as easily fade or hide some based on predefined filters. Which allowed me to know at a glance which shows and movies I havenât seem with them and if they appeared in a show, how many episodes they appeared in. New interface splits this between movies and shows. And while I like the separate âFrom My Historyâ section, it shows limited amount of items on initial actor page and if I click to go into it, episode list switches from amount actor appeared in to full amount, which means I canât tell if certain actor I want to see more of is an extra, recurring or a star of the show.
Show Seasons/History
For shows with more than 4 seasons I could see all list of seasons on one page with clear progress bar and I was only a mouse hover away from knowing how many plays I had for each season. Now, only âat a glanceâ progress is on dashboard. If I am rewatching a show, there is no indication on itâs page that I am or my progress. Main show page shows only 1 season and I canât even see full list of episodes without having to press to call out sidebar, which on ârewatchedâ show shows âall caught upâ instead of current progress and sidebar is limited to 4 seasons at a time which for shows with more than 4 seasons brings more friction. Looking at thumbnail of the season I canât even tell if I fully watched it or if I missed an episode in the middle, like I could in old design.
Customization
Old interface had more personalization options. I could easily go into settings and setup how I want my dashboard to look like, what sorting options to use. I could easily expand Up Next, Watch History, Watchlist and Reccomendation section. I could remove/add certain sections to dashboard. Now it is limited by the size of thumbnais and while mobile at least allows to scroll from side to side, WebApp doesnât allow even that.
Visually I like the look of new design, but itâs oriented for MOBILE use and thatâs fine for people who use it on mobile, but I personally primarily use is on PC as webpage which has more real estate. But new design doesnât utilize my 4K screen and is created to shrink everything for mobile convenience hiding a lot of things that could be instantly visible without having to think where to press. Even movie collections require scrolling to the bottom of the page instead of link being readily available at the top or an arrows NEXT/BACK dropping me to next or previous movie in collection, which was a very convenient way to navigate when I was binging entire collection. All in all new page is usable, but it seems to have more friction and shows less information upfront.
These are just the few things I noticed after a day of being FORCED to use new interface. I hope I learn to like it or that it improves in ways I like as I still have almost 2 years of supscription, but as things stand now I want to interact with Trakt less than before, and for someone who is unemployed and watches movies/shows half of the day itâs a problem.

I desparately need a way to filter collected vs uncollected items in my lists! This was a great feature of v2 that has been removed for v3! I use the collections to work out what I need to grab and what is available to watch.

My usage of Trakt has also broken now with this change to V3
I usually check in a morning for episodes I know that I will watch and mark them as watched, otherwise I will forget to do it, cant do that now because it hasnt aired, even though i want to mark as watched at aired time
Calendar is also not working as expected for me, another show I am currently watching weekly airs the next episode on Monday (20th), but because V3 has replaced air date with early streaming release date, all episodes of this show are in the calendar for the 12th

late to the party, i thought i could avoid this forever but boy this is very bad.
I stand to trakt on the whole war of increasing the prices and it hits me back with this V3 mastrocity.
I will just copy my thread just to see some of what i have found just by one hour browsing.
It is now nagging about people do not like the new interface, it is just essential to put a lot of things back. Like the hide/fade and those fantastic little icons on the bottom of the calendar as per previous message of @STRATEGIZER , the think here is not that you change the layout and now to find new shows you have to go to there and there, or in order to see the total of items in one list you have to click there, it is now gone, just gone, why you thought that will be something noone needed, you have just stripped down function, features and many usefull things, just gone! design something new but keep it with all their candies.
At this point i will pay another VIP bonus tip amount to have the v2 back. Make it selectable by paying i donât know. fix this!
