I was only just a year old VIP member but I have cancelled my subscription. This is far too much of a steep increase.
I became a VIP to support Trakt and to show my appreciation for the service. Doubling the price is too much for me to continue. I cancelled my renewal and will be looking for another platform.
Same here 11 years. Going from $15 to $60 is out of control. Ive been here long enough that I have direct emails with Justin.
“You’ve been with us since the early days, and we’re incredibly grateful. Your support as a VIP member has helped shape Trakt into what it is today.”
This move doesn’t feel that way.
14 year OG here. Just cancelled. I do not use the service enough to warrant the existing price, I just kept the subscription going to support the service. This huge price hike is enough for me to cancel.
Feeling a bit insulted tbh!
Yeah, absolutely bonkers decision. The only thing I really used was the advanced filters and theres no way I’m paying ~$100 AUD per year for that.
The price increase is too high. 100%!?!
After 7 years of VIP membership, I’ve now canceled.
I spent countless hours migrating to TMDB.
What a shame.
11 years VIP member here (who has just renewed at $30). I’ve never really got $30/year value from Trakt, but I’ve kept up my membership all these years because, meh, it’s $30.
At $60, forgetaboutit. Cancelled.
You’d better define “lifetime” before looking for that option here. Trakt”s life expectancy might be shortened after this clusterf#ck!
Would you really buy lifetime from a company that goes back on promises less than a year ago? I know I wouldn’t.
Ive seen this mentioned in the other more popular thread, it seams a nice copy of trakt. but maybe my math are wrong but suggesting the VIP of that site is more than the monthly increase here.
Simkl price

It’s roughly the same, they have a lifetime option as well as a discounted monthly for students. Would you rather give your money to them or a company that treats its customers like Trakt is right now?
The fact that simkl has a lifietime option and also lower tiers of subscription helps - what doesn’t help is that simkl doesnt support rewatches, things are either marked watched or not… so no go for me on that one. honestly every alternative ive looked at is lacking in the rewatch area compared to trakt, I dont want to pay 100% more but i guess i’ll have to decide how important my lifetime rewatch stats are to me.
This is really unacceptable. What happened with the talk from a few months ago that legacy VIP members will keep their original pricing? I guess they showed us how little their word actually worths. My subscription renewed a few days ago at $30, so I’m good until this time next year, but I’m not going to pay anymore. $60 is way too much. They will loose more paying users than they’ll gain.
Ask Simkl’s Discord to add this function, I believe that with the migration of new users that is happening now, they will give priority to new requests if there are many to ask for.
Near 14 years and I just cancelled. They offered $30 for next year and $60 for the 2027. $60 is too much for what I get out of it, so I am getting out now. I loved the service, have played with the API over the years and contributed to Justins Kale when they needed funding. But a 400% jump is crazy for what is on offer. Sad to leave this service ![]()
Any chance you can forward a message to disable phone verification, i dont like to give that sorta info away online, if possible.. Thanks ![]()
They’re well aware of that request already, it’s the most voted for request on their support forum.
The unfortunate part is they don’t plan on ever making their rewatch feature work like trakt’s, where they keep a history of your multiple plays by each date you watched them.
Same here I can’t justify an 100% increase I’ll let my current membership run out and I won’t be renewing
I blame the Trump tariffs. Just kidding, but yes I’ll be cancelling. Member since 2013. It really sucks that Trakt doesn’t give a shit about the people that built the platform.
Yeah, 6 year VIP cancelling as well. Bye.
